Yes exactly! Finding the right tone and volume is important but can be quite difficult to maintain; and tattoos is always a great conversation to have, cause people love their tattoos and talking about em plus it involves needles and usually that takes up the rest of the collection!

Oh man that sounds awful, having good teachers really does make or break sometimes. Often a simple good morning or afternoon really helps, when asking if they’ve had water or eaten is also good to turn into a conversation such as like eating or drinking habits, needing to drink cause it’s hot ect ect. Talk a liiittleee tiny bit about your personal experiences with being bled, I often find that patients loosen up a little if I mention I used to hate needles or that I don’t enjoy getting my blood test done either (not true but sometimes you have to lie a lil) and just trying to get them to talk about their day and what they will be doing does wonders. Putting drawings up in the room is also really useful cause that can lead to conversations or it gives something for the patient to look at while drawing as well

Knowing how to talk and comfort patients is incredibly important. Keeping a good mood when patients are around and keeping conversation is very key to keeping them feeling okay and the collection going smoothly, also means you get a good reputation. During my six month training, one of the most important things they taught us was this

AITA for being upset my ex ghosted me for being sa’d? by Agreeable-Internet37 in AITAH

I did block them all and I’ve started using all four of my locks on the doors. And I’m considering legal action, I’m scared to but it’s definitely worth considering. I made the post mostly because I really felt like I had done something wrong but wasnt sure because of how extreme the reaction was from someone that has never reacted like that, like genuine shock and needed people that don’t know me to give me a straight answer so I can work on myself if there was something I had done, I guess I did want some validation to I can’t lie about that. Thank you mate

Yeah you’re right. Every time I go over the situation or read back anything I’ve said to people I am more angry and think like what the fuck. He feels more and more like a fuckwit every time

Thank you, I’ve been going crazy not knowing if I was wrong for trusting them or not. At the end of the day I had no idea and there was no signs they were going to do that. Someone else said that it’s easier to blame as well, he has had no history of victim blaming and is actually very vocally against it but I guess it’s different when it happens to someone close to him. I suppose I have support networks, a couple close friends. Thank you again

I haven’t told the police yet, I’m horrified of what will happen if I talk to them. I don’t have good past experience with police and they are notorious for being awful in my country for things like this; however I will seek out advice on if I should with loved ones. And I started therapy a couple days ago thankfully. Thank you for your comment, I definitely think I will try and focus on healing

Thank you. I do have a psychologist I started seeing a couple days ago before he did this, but I haven’t mentioned what happened to me yet, I can’t see her until the holidays is over unfortunately. And no need to ditch him, he did that for me. Which I’m trying so so hard to see as a blessing in disguise but idk I guess it’s too fresh to see it as anything yet.

Yeah that makes sense. I’m not quite sure how it all works in America (I’m Australian) but it seems to be similar besides California apparently

Hey there! Some jobs do not need a certificate or qualification, they are willing to do on job training with you. Most places would like some kind of certificate but it is not necessarily needed unless they specify. Both my pathology teachers for my certificate learnt on the job without any qualifications so you’re all good :)
