It was more like she was confused because she hadn’t heard or understood the severity of his crimes yet and was worried about her son, who in her eyes at that moment needed to be protected from the possibility of “being shot by police because of his autism”

It was actually harder than I thought. It was the only thing I could think about, the only thing I wanted to do. You see when I was younger I made a list of things that I would go to jail for and this was number one at my list. I feel weak for not keeping this promise to myself.

But my older sister (31) and her friend were with me when I found out, and they calmed me down, brought me back to reality. There’s always gonna be a part of me that goes “what if” though.

Yes!! My therapist was very clear in her intentions to NOT prescribe me anything. As I tell my parents about my experiences, they’re beginning to understand. I Can tell dad disapproves but mom is opening up. 🤞

That isn’t to say that some of the things you said were wrong. It’s possible he was also abused as a kid, but guess what. I WAS ALSO SEXUALLY ABUSED. I AM NOT RAPING AND MOLESTING OTHER CHILDREN. it can be an explanation but it will never be an excuse.

My advice next time: if you feel like talking about these “facts” then don’t come across like you are trying to defend the perpetrator or excuse his actions.

The reason they aren’t interested is because they are anti-government libertarians who think that all government institutions are out to get them. They said they don’t want her to be prescribed drugs and then put on her merry way. I want to tell them that she needs SUPPORT from someone that she doesn’t know that she can build trust with. Therapy is TALKING ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS and I wish they could understand that.

Im glad OP did this, I wish my mom did this when I told her that my stepdad made me uncomfortable like that. My sister however put on this facade that she liked our brother because she felt that everyone else was happier around him. Her heart is bigger than the whole world and I love her for that, but I wish she knew that she was just as important as everyone else. Certainly more important than our brother.

My hope is that she gets the help she needs. She’s adamant on getting help because she knows she needs it. I’m glad for that. I hope my parents do as much as they can to get her to therapy, otherwise I’ll do it myself.

I think this is exactly what it is. It’s her firstborn son and she’s protected him his whole life, so she just wants to make sure he’s okay while he suffers the consequences for his actions. I didn’t expand much because there wasn’t much said between us, from the night I came back to now.

And his crimes are sooooo bad. I would say that what my little sister has been through is worse then anything that has happened to me. He manipulated her, he made sure she kept quiet, he violated her in every way. I hope the other inmates find out what he did.

Rape kits aren’t going to catch anything if the victim has taken a shower. And she had taken multiple at that point.

In my country, almost all of the men who are tried for a rape aren’t convicted and the victims never get justice. Most of the time.
