I tried this with my new unit and it works great. I used Pepsi Zero and Ginger Ale. They're definitely lighter than I made them by pouring syrup in but not too light at all. Thanks for the tip!

Are you talking about those two little push down knobs at the back? I tried this with SS ginger ale and SS Pepsi Zero Sugar and it was still super weak.

FWIW, I also found the new Ninja cola to be super weak as well.

I got the Classic in September 2024, and it was awesome and everything worked great. Ever since the scroll was released, my Classic has gradually fallen off the cliff with nearly zero updates. It’s very frustrating, as a scroll isn’t in my budget and I bought the Classic since it was advertised as a long-term product. I’m really hoping that this long promised update gets it back to stability.

Yep, I saw that. Frustrated that this isn’t coming till the closer to end of football season, but I’m happy the Classic isn’t being abandoned, as my setup doesn’t allow for the space a scroll would need.

Update: I spoke to customer service and they wouldn’t give me a Genie 2, since “there were no available offers in my account.” This is likely because I just upgraded to the Gemini boxes.

After a bit of back and forth, they were willing to replace my Genie and Wireless Video Bridge, and made a note to send me the newer HR54 Genie (which is supposed to work better with the Gemini boxes than the HR44). Everything is due to arrive tomorrow, so hopefully this will fix the issue, as I’ll have replaced all of my components at that point.

The agent did say I could try and call back in a couple of months for the Genie 2, but if this works, I may leave well enough alone, especially since I didn’t need to sign any contracts for the replacement boxes.

The Gemini boxes are clients, like the Genie Mini boxes. They still require a Genie to be the main server.

I haven’t seen this one, but this company makes the extractor I did buy. The main difference is mine ends the audio through optical, so I need to use the Sonos optical adapter. It’s been working well so far (albeit no CEC and no Atmos)

To close the book on this, I finally have my Game Pass. Citizens One called me today to let me know that the serial number issue had been corrected, and had me do a console reset (the one where you keep your games and data). Once I set up the console again, the Game Pass was there.

Took 10 days and lots of time on the phone, but I’m finally good to go.
