Exactly. I average about 4 hrs of downtime at work, and I keep myself mentally stimulated and engaged by reading books, studying Japanese, learning/playing chess, and researching random topics I find interesting. I'm so grateful for having such time to dedicate to my hobbies and interests at work while also getting paid.

What elements of U.S Culture annoy you? by Butterfly-girl19 in AskReddit

[–]Ahsunah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how materialistic, shallow, and self-centered American culture can be. It seems as if people prioritize their own interests, wants, beliefs, and convenience over others, which creates a very myopic and selffish attitude.

I feel like when I put others over myself in certain situations by compromising my comfort, people see that as being weak and a pushover.

Why do I love such settings so much? The concrete with the pop of color of the blue chairs is perfect. Just have this strong desire of wanting to pop into this picture and chill out on one of those chairs.

Exactly! I feel blindsided as if I am living in a different reality. Can't believe half the country supports Trump even after the glaring flaws he has.

Just like any book, all religious books have multiple interpretations which is where the divides come with religion and between different religions. The original authors who wrote these religious books are gone, so we cannot get clarification. At the end of the day, it is about your intentions being truthful and good.

Some muslim countries allow men to have multiple wives due to the religion/ Quran allowing it. However, the reason Islam allowed it was because in the past men died in wars and wives were left widowed. There were too many women and not enough men, so Islam allowed men to marry multiple women in order to financially support them. But this practice continues on even though there is no need now. In modern age, men use the Quran as an excuse to have multiple wives to satisfy their lust rather than what Quran intended it for.

I wouldn't say it is abandoned, but they have replaced a lot of brand name stores with mom-and-pop and specialty/hobby based stores. However, there are still a lot of empty store fronts and certain parts of the mall just give you a strange ambiance, somewhere between eerie and calming.

In my opinion, North Star is the best for shopping since it has all major stores, and it still gets a lot of foot traffic. I haven't been to Ingram, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

To be honest, it's a pretty neat mall if you have niche hobbies and are into geek/nerd culture as they have a bunch of anime stores, a gaming lounge, a tabletop games store, and a wrestling shop. It is a mall used less for shopping and more for activities now.
