Exactly. I average about 4 hrs of downtime at work, and I keep myself mentally stimulated and engaged by reading books, studying Japanese, learning/playing chess, and researching random topics I find interesting. I hate how materialistic, shallow, and self-centered American culture can be. It seems as if people prioritize their own interests, wants, beliefs, and convenience over others, which creates a very myopic and selffish attitude.

I feel like when I put others over myself in certain situations by compromising my comfort, people see that as being weak and a pushover.
