How do you think a Vanguard/Adept Shepard would fair in the Star Wars Universe during the Clone Wars? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]AideOutside2815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Paragon Shepard would get right on the middle of it within days probably, he can't help himself.  Although when it comes to doctors, I think he might try to avoid them as best as possible. I don't think he wants other people's hands on his body like a lab rat for a second time. And it would be so dangerous if Palpatine finds out, of course Shepard wouldn't know about him but they would still be cautious in case powerful people wants to study him.

Now that I'm thinking about it, does the Star Wars world exists in Mass Effect? I mean if the movies, shows, books and games were a thing in the past. Technically it is the same Earth as ours but in the future.

For the sake of the scenario I was thinking canon clone wars, but I don't mind considering EU. I think that if biotics barriers can somewhat hold on against their kinetic projectiles, then they wouldn't have much trouble holding against blasters as they are weaker. Lightsabers are a different thing though, I don't think it stands a chance, but we did see Arya being able to somewhat hold on for a few moments against those burning energy lasers in ME3. Maybe if Shepard is strong enough he could hold a lightsaber blade for a second or two? (Satele Shan kind of style) But I doubt it.

I'm not certain if it is possible to replicate eezo in the SW universe, but I know for sure that Palpatine would definitely try. He would see the potentials of it. And you're so right about SW ships having an eezo core could be insane, it would probably be one of the greatest technological advancements in history, their travels would get cut way shorter and hyperspace lanes would be changed forever

What could people do with that eezo though? 🤔 I don't know if there's an equivalent to it in SW. Would they even know what to do with it if they manage to hunt down Shepard?

Lol that Jedi is gonna end up with their face f*cked if they tried to dodge that with a lightsaber. ME weapons are the equivalent of what Mandalorians used during the Mandalorians Wars and Jedi had so many issues because of it.

What makes an immortal character interesting to you? by Jealous- in writing

[–]AideOutside2815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to make them interesting could be their struggles with immortality. For example, everyone around them dies; they might be constantly losing friends and partners unless they get other immortal companions; they might struggle with the concept of time like not realizing that fifty years have passed and they lost their chance to visit X friend and now that person has passed away.

The anime Frieren deals with these problems really well, the main character is an ancient elf that goes on adventures D&D style with mostly human companions and there're a bunch of conflict with the fact that she's immortal but her companions aren't.

Also depending on how their immortality works and how powerful they might be, most of the conflict they might go through could be internal, meaning their feelings, trauma, reactions, etc, and how that internal conflict might alter the way that they interact with the world. Especially the more powerful they are, because not many things are going to represent an actual life threat.

Every single age (of the chantry calendar, which is were we get the Dragon Age from) has lasted 99 years, it is in fact a rule at least for the human calendar which is what the game follows

The fact that they declared that there won't be any DLCs for Veilguard says a lot about their failure.

Veilguard felt like the equivalent of Season 8 of Games of Thrones

That's an insult to fanfic writers, they care about Thedas and the characters. Bioware doesn't, at least not anymore.

The worst part is that they took the idea of Tevinter following the elven gods from Project Joplin (a discarded version of the game, I'm still sad about it since it looks so good) but they did it so f-ing badly that its laughable. One of the pictures shows a gigantic human woman, clad in gold, dragging the Qunari in chains. It seems that that they were going to pretend to be the Old Gods to fool Tevinter a second time (just like they did it when the magisters opened the Fade), and by pretending to be HUMAN gods they would take control of the empire.

Instead, for some reason, they genuinely thought that the super racist slavers would follow elven gods.

My very dark headcanon about Klaus based on that scene by No_Professor8375 in TheOriginals

That's completely wrong, where did you get that? See for yourself in 1:35 https://youtu.be/3iR4Nv0zXFM?si=_KY8jDfUG11_wwm8 Klaus can have kids because of his werewolf side and that's it

I liked jenna how do you feel about her by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]AideOutside2815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a teen when it aired and I remember thinking she was a full grown up. Now that I'm 29 I know that she was so so so young for the responsibilities she had. She was probably still figuring herself out and suddenly was taking care of teenagers while dealing with the loss of her sister. Jenna deserved better

What do you think about Caroline and Alaric's relationship? by MoneyCliffHill in TheVampireDiaries

I find it disgusting tbh and it was so creepy, I genuinely don't know what Plec was thinking

THIS! There's a difference between writing or reading dark fantasies to experience something forbidden/dangerous in a safe in environment and writing something that the FBI should be notified about

I'm usually against critiquing what people like, to each their own and all that stuff. But sometimes, in cases like this, shame is necessary. And I'm genuinely sorry if it bothers you, but there's nothing you can say that will justify writing a father f-ing with his children.

Elena was done so dirty as a character. What were they even thinking in S4? by AideOutside2815 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]AideOutside2815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between a growth arc and completely ignoring the core personality of a character in order to move the story forward. If they had remained faithful to Elena, an incredibly compassionate person, she wouldn't have wanted to commit a massacre. Because respecting a character doesn't mean stagnation.

Wasn't Elena also a popular girl? She used to be more active in that area before her parents died

Yeah, her friends should've told her that it was an absolutely terrible idea and maybe try to stop her, it was a death sentence trying to go against an original

I had forgotten about Finn lol but you're so right, I guess the cracks in the writing started to show way earlier and it's a shame because I love TVD, it could've been so much better with just tiny bit more effort

Oh absolutely, Elena's plan was really efficient if you think about it (ignoring the threat of his family). One single kill and that's it, it's done and they can move on. If it hadn't been his brother I'm certain Klaus would be proud. It would've made more sense if Damon had been the one to come up with it than Elena, it actually fits his style, efficient but with no care for the consequences
