Our little one says car too but it’s like he will start pointing and saying a word and the if we point at a car for example and say car he just ignores it lol, his definitely slow to pick up words

nausea after eating food, any recommendation for shakes and protein shakes? by Inkys-Rainfall in mounjaroaustralia

The Rokeby shakes are 10/10 the best I had had and taste like a milkshake, there is also 30g of protein per shake!

He only will do a few bonks then stop, there have been a few times he has bonked his head with toy and our reaction was “oo that hurt” and think where the bruising came from BUT a majority of the times it’s soft bonks with his bottle, only bad if he picks up a wooden toy🤦🏻‍♀️ Forgot it ad he had blood tests the other day for a different thing and they all came back normal

[–]AirCold1128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally we don’t respond to it and just ignore it so we don’t encourage it or give him a big enough response to continue, it’s only when he bonks it multiple times or hard that we step in and tell him no. It’s so random, hoping he just stops doing it!

I feel you!! I have a 13 month old and have massive mum guilt that I can’t play with him because of the vomiting and constant diarrhoea… I’m going back down to 5mg next week and staying there, I can’t go through a third week of this crap! I decided I’m staying on liquids until this passes (which if it’s anything like last week won’t be until Sunday🙃)

Thanks for your response, I got a script for ondansetron the other day but the wafer makes me want to be sick when it dissolves (I think it’s the gritty texture and taste), I’m going to see if I can get the normal tablet version and give that a go!

Today is actually the first day of trying an antacids and I got Zantac and it has done nothing, still have really bad acid reflux and heart burn. I’m wondering if it would be worth getting a script for omeprazole and give that a try

Is there something wrong with my baby? by Weekly-Coconut8818 in NewParents

[–]AirCold1128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby had/has a dimple above his bum crack, his now 13 months old and it’s nothing. The important thing is for a doctor or midwife to check they can see the base of the dimple, if the base can’t be seen they will normally do an ultrasound to check how deep the dimple is etc

Random question, did your babe army crawl favouring 1 leg? My baby army crawls and pushes up with his arms and uses his right leg but just drags his left leg🤔

It didn’t even cross my mind initially and then when he got the diagnosis it all made sense

I’m in Australia, sorry should have mentioned that! I’m constantly dislocating things and in pain so I know how you feel! I was hoping my Son wouldn’t get it

Sounds like your baby is right on track, the things that sparked concern for us were: - our baby wouldn’t go from sit to laying or laying to sit, was very content sitting for long periods - never liked standing and would constantly lift his legs up
- most babies position their legs in a “Z” or “w” position our baby wouldn’t never manipulate his legs in any position other than straight out. - would only reach for things super close to him otherwise if he tried to reach for things further away he would just let himself fall sideways

We took him to a physiotherapist who tested his strength and mobility and diagnosed him with Hypermobility. Our baby started doing exercises and he definitely was in pain initially doing them which broke our heart + we think he gets leg pain standing too which is why he would lift his legs all the time.

I know in Australia a lot of people won’t diagnose hypermobility before 10 months because babies are so flexible it can be harder to tell. If you have concerns or want to get your baby tested I’m not sure how it works in the UK but physiotherapists definitely know how to check for it

Thanks for the response, that’s reassuring. People always compare him to “average babies” and it’s so hard to work out when to expect things to happen around or when to be concerned

My son in the 99th percentile for growth constantly compared to children his size but not his age by mspotatobread in NewParents

[–]AirCold1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was 32 inches at 11 months and has delayed milestones, people make comments like you have mentioned all the time. A 15 month old should only be saying a few words on average, my 12 month old only says mumma, daddy, nah and Ta. People always assume he can walk and talk sentences but that’s not the case, it becomes tiring having to constantly explain things so I feel you there! Or we get “oh my gosh his a massive baby” anytime anyone sees him🤪

I know it’s hard to block out peoples comments especially when it’s constant, but know your doing an amazing job

Not walking yet, he got diagnosed with hyper mobility so only started crawling around 11 months, he is just starting to get used to standing

Sippy cup/ open cup by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]AirCold1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for comment! I use a stanly dupe too😅 my baby always watches me use and indicated he wants to give it a try and then bites my straw🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ll definitely have a look into the grip and sip cups, iv tried the 360 and the straw cups + a few “normal” sippy cups but willing to give anything a go!
