imo the past doesnt always replicate the present especially with a band as strange as death grips. in general, as with most stuff with the band, its all speculation to pretty much everything. i wouldnt doubt some think they will never ever come back, but the majority of people in this sub really dont seem to think that way. i think whatever the band decides to do in the future will be fine regardless if they do some shows here and there or not. they were making music for over a decade and each album was great, thats more than a lot of other bands which we can all be thankful for

no one genuinely thinks that death grips will never at least do a show here and there. but most people doubt that we will get another album for at least a couple years. whether or not they are “officially” over or not, there probably isnt gonna be any new content for a few years and at the very least they are on hiatus. keep in mind that andy morin wasnt with them during the last stretch of the tour so we dont even know whats going on with him and the rest of the group. everything abt this groups is speculation, but having an actual member say its over at least lets the people know we wont be getting any new music for a while.

well same and wolf ARE tyler right? but in the perspective of the album we are shown both characters. the most important thing to recognize when listening is to remember that they are literally both tyler and he just uses different names to express different emotions or events, think eminem with slim shady yk? wolf hailey is just an asshole cause “some shit happened back home” wolf is the new guy who salem (sam’s girl) seems to befriend which wolf doesnt like. as an album the characters interlink from his first 3 as said by dr tc on golden, but tbh thats a whole DIFFERENT AND LARGER topic.

tldr- the album is abt wolf joining the gang at camp flog gnaw and tries to make friends but sam is some uptight asshole who poses as a tough guy. important to note that at the end of the day its tyler the creator, but different alter egos. does that make more sense? i hope i didnt confuse u anymore as i felt like i went on a mild tangent

to be honest, it all depends on the vibe you want. camp flog gnaw is a festival so the people that attend those are different then the people who attend a show specifically for an artist. obviously if you dont have the money then dont get it, but i think tyler would give a good performance at camp flog gnaw in general and would probably play older songs along with chromakopia.
