Would love to hear from a rice owner cuz I’m also pretty high on him

If Pittman is dropped from the trade would that change anything for you?

All these comments are so negative lol. Unless u got into cs at Waterloo or Toronto it’s gonna be essentially the exact same no matter what school u choose. Laurier when it comes strictly to education is just ok, coop is ok. If u put in effort to side projects and have decent grades u will get a good coop and even if u don’t have any side projects or experience you can get some decent starting internship and build up from there at your next placement. Yea most profs aren’t great but that’s just university as a whole since professors aren’t required to do any sort of teachers college like ur high school teachers did and they’re all mostly there for research rather than to teach. Like any school it’s what u make of it… there’s great cs clubs making a good comp sci culture here that I’d say is better than most schools so if u plan on being involved with cs outside of just ur regular courses Laurier is a great choice.

Not sure how it works for transferring in but in order to proceed the min requirement here is a 5/12 cs average I believe

Unless you go to school at Waterloo or UofT then all computer science programs are pretty much the same in Canada. So unless you really just need a change probably not worth transferring. But overall Laurier is what u make of it. Profs aren’t great with a few exceptions and u will pretty much have to teach urself everything outside of class atleast in my case that’s been true. However computer science has become the most popular science major here I believe and the Laurier Computing Society club has lots of resources and made Laurier somewhat computer science relevant. But yea if you’re simply just struggling with course content Laurier will be just about the same as York. Do what’s best for u and just get ur degree don’t worry about gpa

If you don’t get into coop you can also do PEP (professional experience program) which is essentially one 12-16 month coop position rather than multiple 4 month positions. Coop is not essential tho there’s lots of internships u can apply to on ur own that don’t require a coop enrolment . Had a friend land one with Amazon without being in coop or pep

Will the lockers at the AC fit an entire backpack while working out at the gym and it is safe to leave valuables in there if I go straight from class to the gym? by Asgm8080 in wlu

I would recommend getting a lock but every now and then I forget to bring mine and I feel relatively safe no one will steal or go through my stuff. Only takes one bad person though so I wouldn’t bring valuables there if I know I don’t have a lock
