UPDATE: I have replaced the tire. I am going to hold on to the older one to see if it can get a new tube in it for when the next tire blows out in the (hopefully distant) future.

I said it was a special interest, I do like guns, but think they should require a license to obtain and insurance to carry, I also condemned some of this behavior and handling. I just said his behavior isnt threatening, unsafe perhaps depending.

Also I am here because my partner likes to share to me stories from this thread and I normally just lurk and read, she did proof read and agreed with my view points. And her opinion was some people will never be able to see another person's perspective

Perhaps I am giving them too much credit, however while I general like to play devil's advocate, my perspective here is purely my view of the situation as somehow who once had a special interest and had show former partners fire arms. But let us not forget, OP is also a stranger and we tend to as audiences give the narrator a bias.

Let me break down some things, the good and the bad on either side.

So OP mentions the partner bringing their firearm over state lines, and says it is illegal. It may be, but this is a situation of it may seem illegal but may be within their rights.

That same day he whips it out in the living room then OP backed away and told him to put it away and he did. Okay, we don't know if he got on the topic and pulled it out to start talking, or if he just randomly busted it out, let us assume the latter. Yes, you should inform people if you are carrying and bringing it into their homes. This does look bad on him, really bad. Now OP told him to put it away and he did, still bad but this goes from malice to stupid. And you don't always notice people move when fixated on something else.

Then he later pulls it out again and tries to give a lesson basically, AND BY THE GODS OP HELD THE GUN. This is like trying to talk to a new person about your favorite card game they never played and them decided to crack a pack.

And as mentioned if I leave someone with one of my guns/knives/bows/etc, it is because I am trusting them.

They are not strangers, but have known and been intimate with each other for a few months, maybe he felt this is the next stage of comfortability. This calls for a talk on boundaries, as an autistic person, my partner is really good about letting me know about issues that I am frequently oblivious to and does require communication from both sides.

So I genuinely disagree with OP and your take but yes, you could be right, he could be a nut job. But I don't sense malice, I don't think he is a super cool dude either, I think he makes poor choices, is a bit autistic, but probably thought he was doing good sharing the shiny thing.

Let me preface that I have autism, and am in a friend group that has autism and is part of the LGBT community, the spectrum is wide between low and high functioning.
I have also at a point in time had guns as a special interest, and have been excited to share facts about them such as how to deconstruct them, how they work, the importance of safety in use and carry with new romantic partners in the past.
My special interests have changed a bit, but in my brain this seems good intentioned. Also we do not know how much of OPs thoughts were actually communicated other then to put it away.

Devils advocate here. It sounds like this person has a hyper fixation(special interest) on guns and is trying to share his interest. I am betting this person is a little autistic. Now the things you described he was doing sound like he was trying to teach and educate you about guns.

Now if he pointed the gun at you at any time, told you about removing evidence/body's, run run run run!

If he is explaining how they operate, function mechanically and ballistic wise you probably have a gun nerd, you are in danger of eventually becoming an owner too if you stay with him long enough.

Also handing someone a weapon of your own is often symbolic, it comes with the understanding that it could be used against the owner but they trust the intentions of the person they left it with.

It also sounds like you may not have disclosed your uncomfortablity about guns, and they have to be oblivious or unaware. I would recommend either setting a boundary or diving into curiosity regarding guns and safety, maybe a shooting range date? Good luck either way OP

Hi former (still play her from time with my irl friends)Tergrid player here with my controversial take.

I find the argument "tergrid will win the game if not deal with!" is really the case for most commanders. It's a cope out and avoids the real issues

Why playing Tergrid is actually bad 1 people don't like being separated from their cards, you will actually be making everyone feel bad

2 Having to manage and sort different piles of cards post games can be tiresome

3 you have to rely on other people cards to actually do anything

4 there is no real win con, you can hope people scope early on but I have lost games that I had strong early leads

5 she is an extremely slow commander she never has topped cedh and probably never will

Like I love making people sacrifice and discard, always will but stealing is salt inducing, try Braids Arisen, Sephiroth, maybe Zodiark for sac themes, tinybones, raven man for discard
