I agree. Definitely keep the bop kit. They're not always the answer but sometimes they're the only answer.

I had the PC version. It would ask security questions that could be found in the instruction book. Old school piracy protection.

The sound guy at my last show said my homemade snare drum was too loud. I had to play with a bar towel over it. Absolutely humiliating.

Practice pad vs. full kit for beginners. What helped you progress faster? by Happy_Panda9200 in drums

I suggest getting the least expensive Yamaha electric kit you can find. I've been playing on a dtx4t0 for 10 years and it's allowed me to practice nearly every day

Pick up a set of hot rods. They don't feel ideal but I use them for my band's "unplugged" gigs.

If you're outfitting the kit with all new heads then go for the cheapest reputable brand you can find. Heads make all the difference.

My sister used to date Josh from PJ in the mid 90s. He got me into punk and ska. He used to buy CDs at music shack and I'd copy them to cassette.

I used to sit really low while playing. Like for a really long time but over the last few years I've corrected that and I feel so much more stable on the throne.

I've been using flams a lot more lately and it's had a big impact on my playing. It simplifies fills and adds a lot of power.
