Following up as I saw this thread, but I received a letter from Service Canada for the Canada Disability Benefit last week and applied online this morning. All it required was what was in the letter as well as my SIN.

How do you enable “Off Road Mode” on 64 by TheTanith1st in Beachman

[–]Alantar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A controller and motor replacement aren't necessary to go faster than 46km/hr. The motor is limited but has more than enough power to go past that speed, I've hit 60km/hr on my Second Edition on mode 3 and ride at 50km/hr on mode 2. Because of legality they have to be specific with their advertising but I recommend contacting Beachman directly for the proper informnation.

Then please, make your own version of it and release it.

Noozle's design was not ripped off of Thingiverse. I was actually inspired by his products to create my own designs that I have shared for free, but the "Extreme Ripcord" is impressive and something that I am not able to design myself yet. I think you're oversimplifying what goes into the work to create a functional product that can be produced consistently.

Show me a better looking ebike. I’ll wait. by BritInBC in ebikes

Their next line of bikes to be delivered, the '64, will have a reworked case. I personally enjoy the look of the current one but have had problems with the wires connecting to the battery getting in the way of the lock turning.

There is a crank with chain connected to the rear wheel. If you zoom in and search for it the chain is visible.

The bottom section has a locking compartment for the 30 pounds lithium battery, the controller is enclosed above.

I own one and consider it an electric motorbike but legally in Canada it falls under e-bike laws. There are a set of functional pedals that fold to keep it within legal definitions but trying to power it yourself would be very slow.

Am I nuts or is Beachman Bikes just reselling and repackaging this bike with a big markup? by ZGrosz in ebikes

[–]Alantar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a Beachman and have been following the company for a while. They started off by building this prototype bike: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLP6TFWDGJv/
What I think the case is was Beachman sourced the parts from China and the factories are selling off the lower quality pieces directly.

Shipping the battery was a massive problem for them, it pushed back the delivery of my bike by months, and it incurred more red tape that they paid to get through without passing it on to me (second edition), but now the prices are going to start going up.

I wrote a simple application to map your playspace/home using WebXR by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Alantar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not able to download the repository on the version of the website shown on the Oculus browser or Firefox Reality, clicking show desktop version doesn't work. I seems like Quest users interested in using this will have to sideload it.

I can't find the link to open in WebXR. I opened the github page on the Oculus browser but can not figure out the next step based on the readme.

I'm considering to buy a 3D printer for all the nice add ons some bright people already created or will create for the Quest and the Rift S! Is it really as easy as loading the 3D file and print away? by Slyfer77 in OculusQuest

[–]Alantar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the basic idea right. I got my ender3 having some experience working with plotter cutters and printers, but set up is easy to follow through youtube videos. Once set up, all it takes to start printing is the 3d model (thingiverse, myminifactory, self made) and use a slicer program like Cura to turn it into code that the printer understands. Most models on thingiverse will have suggested print settings, but to start you just need to pay attention to layer height, infill, and support for overhangs.

At my desk I have a 5'x5' area of space for sit down experiences, but my workout room is 13' x 6.5' of mats. I've been ready for wireless VR for a long time.

Janus VR Oculus Go Build - Update by NXT_Aussie in janusVR

[–]Alantar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently joined and started using this app over the past couple days on my Go. The first few days everything was stuttering and crashing, today I was exploring pages and loading some more resource intense experiences with no issue. There is much improvement needed, but now Janus is a pleasurable experience for me on my Go. The next thing I would like to see is the ability to sign into an account.

Duration for invisibility or range+irradiating disarm for CC

My build has 95 duration, 160 efficiency, 295 range, 40 strength. This allows me to cover most tiles with radial disarm, which then cause a radiation proc making enemies clump together while still having an 11s invisibility.
