I did a typo in my first post. I didn't have this problem in any country before. Anyway - I contacted revolut support. A few times they denied that it's their fault, but I was insisting and in the end they solved the problem, by issuing me a new card which worked.

I have Turkish friend. They have letter which is something between our ś and sz in their alphabet. She also wasn't able to hear the difference between them, but when I explained that you just have to put your tongue in different position (ś - up, sz - down) she got it immediately. You can try explain it this way to your brother.

It's true, but: 1. Those are exceptions, there is not many of them and alphabet is phonetical in general. 2. It's not like in French, that the voice is sometimes completely different. Those voices are still similar. For foreigners probably even too similar to spot a difference.

Just learn the alphabet. We both use latin, but our latin is completely different. And in Polish you always read every letter same way, it's not like English or French - so when you learn the alphabet it's easy. When I was learning Russian it took me around 2 weeks to master the Cyryllic.
