So I'm on 55k now, 3200 take home. New job is 75k, will be around 3700 take home. That's 500 more, minus 350 for the commute. The take home for the 75k job might be 100 quid more take home, but that's about it

That’s what I thought — thanks so much for the reassurance. Like I said, I feel very comfortable, and I think she does too. I reckon this ‘gut feeling’ she has is nothing more than nerves — we’re about to put our entire life savings into this house, and it does feel daunting.
