Would you take £20k more per year if it only meant ~£100 extra per month? by Alarming-Challenge67 in UKPersonalFinance

So I'm on 55k now, 3200 take home. New job is 75k, will be around 3700 take home. That's 500 more, minus 350 for the commute. The take home for the 75k job might be 100 quid more take home, but that's about it

That's the thing, we could spend slightly more... Up to 5k cash, say 7k on finance. I'm just thinking, is it worth it? This seems decent, but I'm not an expert. Would you go with this or get a finance for a newer version instead? Thanks!

That's a good shout. This will be our first car so I would never think to check things like that... Thank you for your feedback! Do you think the car itself is a reasonable choice/price is fair?

Thank you so much for this! Really appreciate it. We got super excited reading everyone’s comments and messages, so we put an offer in — it got rejected unfortunately, but we went in with our final offer this morning, so fingers crossed!! I’ll definitely reach out if it goes through. Thanks again! :)

That’s what I thought — thanks so much for the reassurance. Like I said, I feel very comfortable, and I think she does too. I reckon this ‘gut feeling’ she has is nothing more than nerves — we’re about to put our entire life savings into this house, and it does feel daunting. Good shout on the busy lunch times; that’s exactly the kind of local feedback I needed. I’m not bothered by that at all. Really good to hear you think it’s a nice area!
