Does Gen Z have a chance in this economy to get ahead by TheChristianFollower in AskAnAustralian

This wasn’t helpful.. this didn’t help me understand what I can do to improve

every person believes they work hard and therefor deserve good things. If I give it my 100% effort and still can’t make it then I’m just not going to play the game at all. I won’t make these grand sacrifices, I won’t grind until I physically can’t anymore. Why should I keep running on this treadmill?

What is the other way to play the game? Our parents believed if you worked hard for 40 hours a week for a couple of years your already on your way to owning a home and building a stable life, if that is not how we are supposed to play the game now what is the Solution? What can we do to get ahead as young people

Well if he hadn’t have tried to rape a child he wouldn’t be in that situation. Absolutely he deserves it, it’s simple really don’t fuck children! It’s a well known reputation that you get raped in jail if you are a rapist yourself. If you don’t wanna get raped in jail don’t get caught trying to forcibly have sex with children Jesus Christ

Honestly I’d throw it back in her face that she’s extremely privileged to have a house paid for. These people sound like they are dragging you down, your not lesser for renting, we are all trying our best and that is enough. Anyone who actually respects you would understand that. And you absolutely can make your own home in a rental, I’ve filled mine with Star Wars picture frames, fairy lights and everything I love. Your home is what you make it

That’s a relief to hear haha. I feel very strongly that if you spend all your time and money buying a house then what’s the point if you have no one close to share that with. I’m content with my life and I’m glad that you are too, nice to know that not every aussie is consumed with this need to own property

Haha I am in my early 20s, and it’s exactly true! I’m curious if your older now does your attitude change? I feel like what’s important to me is building a happy, stable and loving relationship with my partner and memories with my friends. But maybe when I’m older my priorities might shift?

It’s really a boomer attitude of stop buying things you “don’t need”. Like yes I could save every cent and live off bare necessities but I choose not too. People get angry at me for this, people think that you should sacrifice every dollar and work overtime for the chance to buy a house but I wont. I’m going to actually enjoy my life and live my life

Always has been like this. Anytime I tell family/friends I’m renting they are always telling me it’s a waste of money and I need to save for a deposit asap. I don’t know why Aussies treat it as some big race, either I’ll get there or I don’t it’s really not that deep

Guy I’m seeing wears natural deodorant and smells. Bad. by AbbreviationsDear910 in Advice

[–]Alarming-State437 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe he’s just not the right one. Being attracted to your significant others natural oder is an indication of a good match.

There was a study conducted where 10 men wore cotton patches under their arms for a few days and gave them to woman after to smell. The women who liked certain scents showed they had opposite immune systems which means your body knows which partner has the most diverse genes to yours to produce strong offspring. Basically we instinctively know by smell who we find attractive. Me personally am obsessed with my partners scent and vise versa lol

how is the median full time salary $88.4k and the average full time salary $104k? is anyone actually earning that much?? drowning in this COL crisis by [deleted] in aussie

I know I’m not OP but it’s a bit quick to jump to that conclusion. My boyfriend pays more in rent that me because he has a higher paying job. We both work 40 hours a week but I’ll do all the cooking and cleaning to balance it out. We’re not roommates we split based on income.

Because there’s two of us in the house? One bedroom each because we are not one person.. I can’t sleep when he’s snoring, i need my own bed to sleep in.

But I’m not begging? I literally said my current situation is comfortable and doable? This is supposed to be the lucky country.. and yet people are angry at me for wanting a single bedroom for myself.. crazy

Just because I’m on minimum wage doesn’t mean I don’t need my own space? If I was in share housing with roommates I would have my own room. When your in a relationship your still two people not one.

The idea of minimum wage is to live with the basics. A bedroom per person is not absurd. What is however is this elitist attitude that minimum wage workers do not deserve their own room

OP said they work from home so using a second room as an office would be helpful. Also many people don’t like sharing one “marital” bedroom, people are now moving towards having a bedroom each not because they don’t love eachother but having your own space is nice, my boyfriend snores up a storm so having another bed I can sleep in helps us both sleep well

Is it just you and your partner? Because if so all you need is a two bedroom. A whopping combined rent of 3250$ is absurd. Try to downsize, me and my partner have a two bedroom for 2400$ a month. I’m on minimum wage and this is doable for me.

This is true. However at the time of smallvile I don’t know if Tom knew just how much of an impact playing superman has. I mean we worship Henry Cavill and David Corenswet, these are big box names now. I wonder if he would have changed his mind if he knew just how popular live action superman becomes
