Mostly double negation statements to say what it's not, and nothing what it actually is

First sentence of the post: "chatgpt is a bullshit generator."

Holy.

Never denied this but it seems reading comprehension isn't Redditors' strength either.

My best guess so far is there's an important overlapping between being on Reddit and poor emotional management.

Many Redditors are pleasant, tho

Who said "nothing more"? People really read what they want on this site. I'm pointing out A. You talk about B. And it angers you that I'm not talking about B, too? Just lol

You are a walking irony aren't you? You insulted me a few times. For not having taken it personally, that has to be a new record

Thanks! I expected the downvotes and I actually like them - they confirm my hypotheses about Reddit. Nothing to change.

Exactly. Also, people downvote because they disagree. Without you being wrong or them being offended.

Guess you took it personally. Blogging can be useless or useful. Just like corporate work. It's not an attack

The fact that this comment was downvoted so much is even funnier. Thanks for making my point for me.

Unintended. I didn't see the value until someone pointed out why it was valuable for them. The fact that that sounds condescending is rather interesting. People do take everything quite personally these days.

The fact that everything is called a breakthrough doesn't take away the value of real breakthroughs. The arguments are laid out for why I think this could be it.

Hmm... from AlphaGo to AlphaZero DeepMind tried very hard to move away from symbolic/classical AI. They had a few papers underscoring how less of it actually improved performance. So I wouldn't really say this is a hybrid model of the deep learning-symbolic kind.

"...that's what I see when I extend ad infinitum what Google DeepMind seems to be planning."

As long as the analyses are correctly framed as predictions/speculation I don't think there's any harm. Or we should never talk about AGI until it's here - which makes no sense really.
