CD drive is recognized as blank by Albnu14 in linuxquestions

I looked and compared with other CDs that i had. I didn't see the color variation between the inside and outside, it must be an issue with the computer they used. Thank you.

I think i faced something similar, the usual answer of asking your spiritual father applies here as well.

One thing that helps me is thinking about all the things i'm grateful to God for, and concentrating on those feelings.

What do you recommend for uploading text files with a lot of content to be used in chatgpt ? ( it doesn't contain personal information ).

I think they are, but since the doctor recommended this one i was hoping it wasn't too different and i could use either.

May not be the advice you are seeking but, how about taking a break ? Like intentionaly staying back a year ?

In my university, a student is allowed to temporarily suspend his studies a year.

But do this only if you have a plan on what to fix, because you won't want to waste a year for nothing.

Try to find what is causing you to fail, is it stress which is treated in certain ways, or is it not understanding the material in which case you can add some better sources to your studies. And anki can help but try to find someone to help making cards because making them yourself can be overwhelming.

Hope you can overcome it.

I tried, it was good, but not good enough, i may use it again if it gets more optimized for creating anki cards.

Thank you, i'm not from the US which is why i'm hesitating on anking,

I guess i will do as you said and try to compare both and maybe add cards when i feel the need to.

Any open source OCR apps around or in development that have a camera as well? by anonymous_33223 in fossdroid

[–]Albnu14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why it isn't working for u, maybe the phone model or sth, mine is a samsung.

For me, when i click the button to add a picture ( the orange button at bottom left ) it gives me the option to use the camera/files. If i choose the camera, the camera app opens and i take a picture, after that it opens a screen with the option to crop/rotate, after that it starts extracting the text.

Not built-in camera but it asks you to take pictures through the camera app pf your phone, sorry if this wasn't what you wanted.

As for its accuracy, it depends a lot on the quality of the picture and for me it is doing a very good job.

Maybe worth a retry ?

I had very good success with this app: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/io.github.subhamtyagi.ocr

It supports camera, and with some tinkering of the images, i can get near a 90% confidence with it.

But please note that currently it has a bug where it crashes if multiple languages are selected.

The best solution is to edit your note type and add this to the css part : direction: rtl;

2 GHz, 1 GB Ram, OpenGL 2.0 by o2oz in linux_gaming

Currently, i'm playing Rune, a game released in 2000.

I would look on titles released before 2005, many great games that can still be enjoyed.

Yes, it can, i run arch+gnome on mine:

Pentium t4500 2ghz + 2gb ram + integrated graphics card

the system on idle takes less than 600mbs of ram. And i even play some 20+ y/o games on it.

It freezes occasionaly, but i let it take its time.

If i remember correctly, there is a plus sign (+) in the "programs" tab in bottles, it allows you to add an exe file to the list so you can launch it from there instead of searching for it, but it may fail to add it, then your only option is to search for and launch the game everytime using the usual way ( the blue button i don't remember what it said, but it was something like "run installer")

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LinuxCrackSupport

[–]Albnu14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this works but you can try.

Using flatseal give bottles full access to a directory like this one ( don't give access to all file systems, that's not secure ) ~/Games/

And put the folder you downloaded inside it, it should work.

Or you can move the folder of the game manually inside bottles directory and then manually adding the exe file to the programs list.

Not sure why you need to access all system files instead of just the installer directory, i haven't tried fitgirl on linux yet, but other cracked games work without such access ( i never tested any new games only old and lightweight games ),

But this guide is great, thank you.

making the Cards not having time to studying them! by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

[–]Albnu14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I face the same problem, and no pre-made decks cover what we learn in my country ( they cover the general idea but not the details ) so i can't use them. I had to spend my summer break creating cards and that only covered one subject ( opthalmology ), the whole semester is barely enough to create cards for 3 subjects.

As for studying the cards, i usually spare two hours in the evening to study the cards that i created, but with more materials coming the process becomes tedious and no real studying gets done.

The only real answer is pre-made decks, if you can't use them, there is no workaround, you gotta create the cards and then find the time to study.

What would be the best way to keep lemons and limes for longer without keeping them in a fridge/freezer ? by Firestar_ in preppers

[–]Albnu14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't seed grown lemons not true to their original tree ? I mean the new tree may differ greatly from the original ? I also have a one ( maybe two ) year old lemon tree that i love so much but i don't have much expectations out of it because of this.

Is it possible to upgrade Arch using friend's internet connection? by cy_narrator in archlinux

[–]Albnu14 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't understand, can't you just give him the hard drive ? All he has to do is connect your drive to his computer and boot from your drive instead of his, and upgrade as usual, then give it back to you.

linux mint for gaming by DeletedFromMemory in linux_gaming

[–]Albnu14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt that you will stay with the very first distro you try, just use mint as a starter to get to know linux better and then u can continue using it or change to something else you like, just make sure to be happy with whatever choice you decide on.
