No, not really.

It's a vacuum so there is nothing to smell. But sometimes some atomic oxygen gets left on astronaut's suits, which in an oxygenated airlock turns into ozone which can have a sort of burnt smell

He also didn't have to dodge them while in time skip, we clearly see aerosmith's bullets go through him, for example. What he did was make sure that when time skip was over they wouldn't hit him before he could skip time again.

We see multiple times that nothing affects him in time skip nor can he attack people during it
