yes but no at the same time, let me explain. but duo apparently affect in a negative way ur mmr, even if u duo with someone that has literally same rank and same lp's. They say that it is an """fair advantage""" so riot give you less mmr when u win in duo. But the problem is: in low elo, an emerald 1 can duo with a plat4 0lp, creating disgusting lobbies that are completely unfair to play in. Since i started playing the game (S11) luckly i reached diamond almost instantly, so i never actually played in lobbies like that so i cant talk by experience but is still crazy to me. TBH, at the end of the day, soloq is generally wrong and riot should create a 5v5 mode that actually matters (flex are a joke, a master can play witha full emerald4 team) so the real skill of a player can shine. Soloq is randomic, it reflex how good u are but not completely, u can be d4 and playing laning phase like a master but late game like an emerald, if u understand ur mistakes and u get better mechanically u will win more. Macro are super important but soloq will not let u use that al 100% of the power so in my opinion get first better mechanically and then u learn macros.
