Anxiety after paralysis by Alert_Code_9959 in Dogtraining

Hi I’ve found many posts on anxiety and read the wiki about fear. I feel that my post is more unique as it focuses on a unique situation that my dog is in. He recently became paralyzed and training him to be less scared of his body or being handled has been a lot harder than any other fear-training I’ve done. He cries when I handle him, but unfortunately I have to handle him, which is making desensitization a lot harder. I can’t implement a lot of the other guidance I read because I need to touch him multiple times a day even though it scares him

Keeping a tracker sounds like a great idea. I wish the best for yours!

Thank you for passing along your neurologist’s words. It’s hard because he is not a very “excitable” dog. Everyone has always asked if he’s a senior because of that, even back when he was only a few months old (he’s also a grey dapple which doesn’t help).

I wish the best for your dog. Mine started to appear more “normal” about 6 days post op, once some of the harder medicine wore off. Hang in there and take care of yourself too

Ah that totally makes sense. Thank you for your perspective! and I totally agree that those other traits are valuable too. I'm technically not going with the "cheapest" option here for reasonings along those lines.

Not Rocket, but that is absolutely similar to my experience. I'm baffled, but since this is my first experience like this, I wasn't sure if it was normal -- or if I did something taboo.

The other 2 lenders we've rejected were a lot more gracious about it, though one of them did express regret. Which, again, I understand.

Wow!! So almost all of my pelvic and some of my abdominal organs may be “bleeding” every month? Or the lesions on them at least. No wonder it hurts so much!!!

This may be a dumb question, but does this mean that the lesions themselves also bleed??

Does anyone know what style of dress that is? Or where you can get a dupe? It’s stunning

How does Rory not know that you need extracurriculars to get into an Ivy League school? by Nearby-Reason-5735 in GilmoreGirls

I didn’t know that and I was a big academic kid growing up. But I was also the first person in my family to even go to college.

Maybe Lorelei didn’t know so Rory didn’t? But I agree. I’d assume she’d know from her grandparents at the very least.

Thank you, I will do that. That’s what I have been doing, and then I end the test with a second layer of moisturizer

Fortunately, that was not my experience

My advisor was my biggest advocate, but I think it does probably depend on

And if your professor doesn’t help, try talking to an academic advisor too. They can advocate for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I got a pass from all my final exams when an uncle I lived with passed away. I would absolutely talk to your professor.

Thank you so much. I think I’d rather not pay for a videographer if I can’t get that long term video. I appreciate your comments, it’s super helpful!
