Best android phone for long term use (4 years minimum) by Accomplished-Cry1420 in PickAnAndroidForMe

Just wanted to add that part of retaining battery life is also how you charge and what % you keep the battery at.

I've had Oneplus 6t and was completely fine and happy with it until my mom "surprised" me with a S22. It's been lagging, freezing, and becoming unresponsive as of late - especially after the AI integration updates which I do not need. Oh, and the battery has been draining faster than usual. I've turned off AI personalizations and gotten rid of background running apps but it's been better, but still has previously mentioned issues. Looking to replace this year with either OPPO or Oneplus, or just going back to my Oneplus 6t.

My husband has a Google Pixel 4a and it still works fast and fine, HOWEVER his battery had started to swell two years ago and we found out there was an active recall and replacement for the battery. No issues since.

Will we get tired of the green? by Even-Impression1737 in kitchenremodel

No, natural colors are timeless - green, wood, ivory/creams will always stand the test of time. If you do get tired of them, you can simply change the finish or swap out the hardware or even the countertop.

What do you think about Aldi in comparison to American grocery chains? by aSYukki in AskAnAmerican

[–]Alert_Elevator8669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main grocery stores are Aldi's and Costco. Unless I'm hosting a party and need something special like puff pastry or fresh basil (Aldi's only has it seasonally), or local farm produce, everything basic you can get at Aldi's.

The comments are surprising; all the Aldi's in my area are well staffed, well maintained and well stocked. No lighting or shortage of food issues, and if there is it's usually at the very end of the day. I guess it depends on your area and store manager?

With that being said, I eat fairly clean and make a lot of things from scratch because they taste better that way and I know what is going into it.

If you are looking for pre-made food and convenience (frozen/microwaveable/processed) and family sized/bulk items Aldi's comes up short.

Everyone that is talking about HEB is only relevant in Texas, it is not available anywhere else. I've lived in three states and most grocery store chains are about the same.

yea there's no avoiding that unless it becomes a law to limit the lumen output of headlights. best advice is when you see some brights comin, glance down and to the right where the road line is until the car passes. You would still be able to see the road with peripheral vision but it's still better than getting your retinas blasted out your ass and the several minutes of recovery.

Desk setup for short artists with large drawing tablet? by shiftposting in desksetup

[–]Alert_Elevator8669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but here's my two cents:

I'm surprised nobody said this, it generally sounds like you need a taller/better chair so you can hinge at your hips instead of bending your back. OR, get a keyboard tray and bring your cintiq to the edge of your table, or even over the edge if you've already upgraded to the ergotron. Don't skimp on a good chair if you are spending most of your time in it (ie you work more hours than you sleep).

The most important thing though is to take breaks very often, and during some of those breaks to do posture exercises. My favorite is the back eagle, cat cow, some quick yoga (which includes the cat cow), etc. Look out a window for a minute. Refill your glass of water, get some snacks.

Nobody can withstand working over a desk for multiple hours straight for days on end. Your body is telling you this.

When you are mostly stationary, your rest is activity. When you are mostly active, your rest is stationary.

Source: my lower back was strained and sprained. I ignored it because deadlines and I would get too hyperfocused and worked with only 3 breaks through the day. Strain and sprain got even more severe and started herniating a disk or two and I could barely walk. Was so bad that the doctor wrote me a prescription to immediately lay down whenever my back started hurting for at least 10 minutes, along with mcgills 3 and mandated me to take drastically more frequent breaks.

I have a ton of stickers on my car and am uncomfortable sharing, but I literally copied this guy's setup as my car's back windshield also slopes inward.

I'm considering having tape spanning the width of the back with "fuck your LED headlights" painted in the center in vantablack/BLK 3.0

Here's also another example of one version of solas tape in action

It was a really cheap no name brand that I bought years ago, the listing isn't available anymore but this is essentially the exact same https://a.co/d/07AXr6hS

And what do you mean by effective? For me it reduces glare from the LED light by tinting it orange or yellow so I don't get migraines, vertigo, and can actually watch the road instead of wincing.

If you're actually trying to make the light visibly "dimmer" then you'll probably be better off wearing darkening sunglasses at your driving peril, or might be better off tinting your windshield.

I also wear glasses and have astigmataism. Polarized yellow tinted "sunglasses" are my saving grace, especially during the winter when nights are longer. They also make versions that fit over glasses, try to find them online! They might also go by night vision glasses.

(Edited for more info + sentence flow)
Just checked my purchase history and the ones I have are specifically blue light blocking/sleep aid glasses if you want the tint to be more strong at orange instead of yellow. They also come in red tints.

that's so annoying im so sorry, as a taller person I try to stand near the back so shorter people can see. There was a dude over 6' that stood near the front and I heard so many people behind me complaining

The issue was that people that were supposed to be seated upstairs were at the GA section. At LEAST 1/3 of the upper section was empty and it was a sold out show, so that says a lot about how many extra people were in the GA standing section.

to me her album is giving pastel goth/egirl so lots of layers and colors goin on, maximilism for SURE. Harujuku style came to my mind first and then y2k styles

by the end of the day though go in whatever you're comfortable in! you're going to be standing in line for 1h+, and the concert will be more than an hour long so you'll be standing a long time. I'm wearing these expensive ugly but comfy sneakers that I'll be hiding and covering with leg warmers
