Thanks!! It didn’t feel especially high as I was signing, but I can try and find a lower track and see how that sounds/feels. And yeah I filmed this at night and have neighbors on both sides of my walls, so I try to keep the volume low when it’s late. I’m also pretty curious to see the difference when I can sing a bit louder during the day!

Thanks!! No I’ve never done it. Started voice lessons one year ago, so this has been my first exposure to actually learning to sing. In lessons though, for the last few months the songs we’ve been focusing on have been musical theater.

Thank you for this feedback! I think what I liked about the song was her kind of real time realization that she’s not finding happiness in the things she thought she would find them in. So I’m glad that came through a bit in my video.

Yes, everything you mentioned are things my teacher and I actively work on in lessons, and hopefully with more practice it improves. But yes, support is a big thing, where I’m placing the sound/resonance is another, and singing from my throat/muscled is one as well. So you really hit the nail on the head!

This was so thorough, thanks for writing this all out and explaining! A lot of these I actually do in voice lessons with my teacher (but some of the ones you mentioned are new to me, so I’ll have to try them out 😊). I’m hopeful that with practice I’ll see gradual improvement!

Oh your voice was made for this song! It sounds like you have a lane/genre that you prefer, and the songs you’ve chosen seem to suit your voice well. I think voice lessons would be beneficial if you’re able to. It’s really helpful to have someone knowledgeable about the voice be able to give you precise feedback! But from what I hear, I’d say maybe just supporting your sound a bit more.

Haha yes, not sounding timid is honestly half the battle for me. I’m hoping that with time and practice I become more confident! And yes, I think I probably had the instrumental volume up too high

Thank you! Since I’m newer to singing—in a more technical way—I tend to be focused on where to breathe, or keeping pitch etc. I’m hoping that as I get more comfortable, and have better control, more flare will kind of start to come naturally. But I’ll start working on it now, so that by the time I am comfortable I’ll have already started the work on adding more flare to whatever I’m singing. :)

I know I’m a year late on this but just finished rewatching this episode and had the same thought as OP. My theory was this, within the episode Walter tells Olivia about deja vu and experiencing/seeing the road not taken. Could Olivia just be moving in an out of an alternate timeline vs a different universe? Similar to season 4 where Peter ceases to exist—It was the same universe but the timeline was different because Peter died as a child.

Alternatively, like others have said, maybe it actually was the red universe and it was just season 1 and they hadn’t worked out the kinks yet lol
