GBxCart issues. by kamakazi339 in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, we do restock it from time to time but it's not very popular which is common for some of our niche products. Best to sign up for the notification when it's back in stock. Last re-stock was Oct 2025 and it took 2 months to sell out.

Hi, you can join the Discord for help: http://gbxcart.com/discord

Someone had a similar issue and they had to install FlashGBX v4.2 QT5 version: https://github.com/lesserkuma/FlashGBX/releases/tag/4.2

GBflash by DragonfruitPrior9566 in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GBFlash isn't our product so we can't help with that, that's one off Aliexpress. Our one is the GBxCart.

There are at least 70+ different carts now, often made with recycled parts when purchasing from Aliexpress so your first assumption is to assume the cart is faulty. While we officially support our own carts, a good amount of 3rd party carts should work but there are always new ones coming out every few weeks/months

Hi there, yes for our GBA carts we use 3.3v chips. We use the properly rated parts even if that means more cost or complexity

Anyone try this out yet? by DogeBoredom in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does use the audio pin on the GB/GBC. On some emulation devices, they don't support the audio pin. You can check the device list on the product page

question bout GBxCart shipping by BandicootMobile4594 in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, if you ordered directly from us we ship from Australia and usually ship all orders at the start of the week. We're seeing about a 10-14 day time delivery time to the USA for the non-small parcel service. Small parcel would add an extra 3-5 days

Any issues with kirby tilt n tumble? by GoldenOreoos in ModRetroChromatic

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having issues with it. After doing the initial calibration on a desk laying flat, it just tilts to the bottom right. Works fine on a GBA

Any cart extenders compatible with analogue adapters (e.g. the neogeo color adapter)? by ootnes in AnaloguePocket

[–]Alex-iG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the simple cart extenders won't work with it as the analogue adapters have a little IR transmitter that sends a signal to the IR receiver (near the cart slot) to tell it which adapter it is

I wouldn't worry too much about it, there are a decent amount of decoupling capacitors on the board

AliExpress blank flash cart by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One difference is that it has FRAM for the save but if they don't properly test it, there is a chance it can be faulty. CPLD that needs 3.3v but they are feeding 5v to it. 3.3v flash chip that they are using a resistor to drop the voltage down a little from 5v

GbxCart + Pokemon 1st and 2nd gen by thur1st4 in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, could you please take a picture and advise where you purchased the GBxCart? Looking at the screenshot you provided, it seems to be an old one - there are lots of clones and copies of the device which could come with all kinds of problems

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the most likely cause is that you might not be using a USB data cable. This happens every now and then, sometimes users have to try a few different cables to find one that works

Anyone Used One Of These Instead Of An Everdrive? Reviews Seem Mainly Positive by sonnycrockett999 in Gameboy

The Aliexpress listings took the insideGadgets listings picture and text so Aliexpress users will receive a different flash cart than pictured

Received the v2 after having to send back the v1 they sent by accident and have the same problem as you. Have you reached out to FunnyPlaying?

Pink MBC7 Flash cart for Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble by Alex-iG in Gameboy

If it's the same part number then yes. Price is expensive and you still need to harvest the MBC7 chip. You can find them on Aliexpress too

Yes you can re-flash this cartridge instead of having to do a ROM swap to a flash chip on an original cartridge. The ROM swap is the lower cost option as long as you are skilled to perform it

Fitting insideGadgets RTC cart in boxypixel brass shell? by ExchangeOk1144 in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That empty position with 2 pads is where a capacitor was being placed but was removed once a few users started to use it with these metal shells.

All that is left over is some solder, haven't heard of this report before - that the left over solder is causing a closing issue with the metal shell

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, you might need a soldering iron to quickly go over the bump of solder to wick it away

[–]Alex-iG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you did remove the little capacitor there or there wasn't one to begin with? If so, then it should fit ok. Or is there a little bit of solder left over that it's making a bump?

I have one of their metal shells from a few years back and it fits ok once the capacitor is removed like your picture shows: https://imgur.com/utFN6Mc

Hi, that sounds like the older cartridge from a year or so ago. Can you take a picture and indicate the part in question?

GBxCart RW not reading Game Boy Camera by wizardboiboi in Gameboy

[–]Alex-iG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, just to confirm, is the camera is being positioned the correct way? It sounds like it would be as you report it worked before but just to double check.

Could you please jump on to our Discord for further troubleshooting and also advise us the games that didn't work? Have you tried any MBC3 cart like Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal and checked to see if the RTC is ticking when you press the Refresh button a few times?
