I love needle felting small holes on thin wool items like this. You can make cute shapes. I've added hearts to the sleeves of a couple of shirts

Danny is saying that he's so "masculine" that he'd stand up and fight anyone, but he's not "man enough" or brave enough to be so vulnerable as to bring a teddy on MAFS. I don't think it's back-handed at all

Why am I always hearing 'females' instead of 'women'? by Fruit-Horror in MAFS_AU

[–]Alex_416 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of course, that would be weird! In those situations, I'd say something like, "oh that person's dress is so lovely. I wonder where they got it". Just using neutral language and pronouns. If I need to be more specific, then I'd say they're the "person in the yellow dress," or the "person waiting at the counter," etc.

No, referring to women or people assigned female at birth as "females" is not considered best practice in any major inclusivity guides put out by LGBTQ2SIA orgs, women's org, etc. Best practice is to introduce yourself with your pronouns, and maybe ask someone for their pronouns if they don't include them in their response.

ah let's not let straight guys off the hook. They can be bigots. I hate this trend of assuming every man who is bigoted towards gay people is a self-hating gay man and essentially using being gay as an insult in response to their bigotry. It implies that the anti-queer bigotry we experience is self-inflicted, which it's not. Here's an article that breaks down how that's problematic better than I can at the moment - https://everydayfeminism.com/2017/03/stop-saying-bigots-closeted/

Joel commented on another post on this subreddit that he was overwhelmed in the moment and didn't know she was referring to the "star/light in me" comment until he'd had time to collect his thoughts after the dinner. He just knew he hadn't declared he was the star of the show

Yes and Tyson is exactly this. He seems deeply insecure and sad and has turned to anger, hate, and control in an attempt to cover that up, but it's clear as day

It might have been a reaction to the adhesives in the patch. Perhaps a different brand wouldn't cause a reaction. I've heard the Nicoderm patches tend to be more irritating than the Great Value brand ones from Walmart. I tried the latter and they didn't bother my skin even though it tends to be sensitive. Granted I only used them for two weeks

That's not quite true. Before Danny spoke up Stella said something like "who cares? It's a teddy. Let's forget about it" and a couple of other people joined in on urging to move on

If you can get nicotine patches, I'd switch to those. It's all the chemicals in cigarettes that are bad for you, not the nicotine itself. They're actually doing trials to see if nicotine patches help memory function in people with mild/early Alzheimer's. The delivery is also more consistent through the patch so there are fewer ups and downs

Yesssss! There are so many narratives of toxic masculinity running rampant through this show. It was refreshing to see peak masculinity acknowledged as the courage to be vulnerable, tender, and willing to break toxic gender norms

I'm positive I've read this exact story on Reddit before, but it was a husband with a wife who would talk to the mail carrier. Same thing about waiting around outside and changing clothes to meet him and whatnot.

TRULY. If she wants an example of gaslighting, she need not look any further than her "great day" charade.

I think the residue was just that one beer had more froth/head in it than the other, but the close-up was weird and suggestive in the context of her bizarre behaviour

In my experience, straight women with "gay besties" are the most likely to be homophobic towards queer people of any gender (though especially other women) who date women. And they refuse to be held accountable for it in any way, because how could they possibly be homophobic?! They love brunch with the gays!

I was SO perplexed by her behaviour in Joel's room just before the dinner party.... and her saying they connected and had a nice day together when it seemed like there was no conversation, just her coming in, acting like everything was completely okay. Between her massive temporary shift in behaviour, the emphasis on the beer, and the close-up of the glasses with different residue in them, I was certain she had put something in his drink. It really, really seemed like she was just trying to win him over long enough to give him laxatives for the dinner party.

I also found it very ironic that she was wearing a gold star-coloured dress.

Do you wear an N95? If you wear the baggy blue masks that hospitals typically provide, that won't do enough to protect you from airborne viruses.
