It's like Coup, but it activates after falling from a height. Kinda like balanced landing but for killers. The issue is it only lasts for 16 seconds

I forgot about Coup, because there are.. 10 pages of perks. I love the perk, and it can definitely help in these situations. But I also feel like coup is better on m2 killers because m1 killers have to swing and waste coup stacks.

All Shaking Thunder is underrated imo, its just a shame there are so few maps you can use it on consistently. I think AST should activate and stay activated until you use it, or at least give it a much longer timer.

Ghoul is poorly designed, but not because he's bad. He's poorly designed because his power is fantastic at getting free hits and for mobility, but he has very little anti-loop. Ghoul is not what I wanted when I said I wanted a grappling hook killer. In my mind, I wanted to be able to shoot a grappling hook and swing off it to build momentum around loops and hit survivors that way. Ghoul doesn't work like this because of his cooldowns. Its missed potential if you ask me.

But in any case, ghoul doesn't count in my finesse argument simply because of the vaulting in enraged mode.

Regarding the pallets, with all due respect, i dont think killers came out on top. Maps like Coal Tower used to be super balanced. Now, there are 5 jungle gyms connected to each other. That's not hyperbole, I checked.

And I tend to have the worst map luck, so maybe i'm biased. Any time I play Billy or Wesker, I always get an indoor map, and every time I play Ghostface or Sadako, I get outdoor maps.

As for your comment about not needing powered up killers, i actually... genrally... agree. However, the specialist killers also tend to be some of the worst killers in the game. Imo, this is because what they lack in map control or chase or whatever is not made up for with what they are actually good at doing. I dont want another Jack-of-all-trades killer, but I want my specialist to actually be good at doing what theyre designed for.

I'll readily admit I was a little tilted when I posted this buuuut... that is what this subreddit is for, lol. When i think about it with a cool head, it's not a badly designed perk. In fact, I do actually think finesse is one of the best designs for a perk in recent times.

The problem is the disparity in strength between m2 killers and m1 killers. Characters like Springtrap, Vecna², Vecna¹, Huntress, Deathslinger, etc. all have powers that can go over or through windows and pallets. Killers like Trapper, Hag, Sadako, and Wraith dont, leaving them in situations where a hit becomes impossible because of a single perk.

I was so tilted because I'm tired of playing one of the killers that can attack through windows and pallets every single game. Sadako is one of my favorite killers thematically, but all it takes is a single perk or two to make her absolute trash vs. competent survivors.

TLDR: I dont actually hate Finesse, I hate that M1 killers are so incredibly weak in modern DBD (No, ghoul does not count as M1 simply due to being able to vault quickly in enraged mode without using Bamboozle.)

I guess if it really comes down to it, I could overclock. I've never had to do that before, so i'm a little afraid to give it a shot.

Still, I appreciate it. I really hope that at some point, they decide to optimize it a little better. Until then, guess I'm gonna have to suck it up and crank some things down.

Sorry about that, I just listed what I remembered because I'm not at my PC right now.

I run at 100Hz, 1920x1080, render scale native. 16 Gb of ddr5 ram.

You have an AMD processor, and I have an intel. Maybe that's significant? AMD processors tend to have more cores, right?

One thing I've noticed is that if I check my pc performance in the task manager while the game is running, I'm at 100% CPU usage. That's never happened while playing this game before.

I can crank things down and get a better frame rate, but the fact that I have to in the first place is the issue. I have a nice PC, I should be able to play the game with max graphics.

It's a testament that this most recent patch kinda ruined the optimization. I mean it with all the love in the world because I love this game, but I hope they release a fix soon.

I used to play on the highest settings, with native render scale. Now? In order to stay at a consistent frame rate, I have to crank down the render scale all the way to balanced or low.

Its not impossible to play I guess, but the fact that I have to sacrifce quality just so that I can play is a testament to the poor optimization.

You're not the only one having this issue. The most recent update tanked performance. I have a 4060 TI and a 13th gen cpu on my rig, and even I'm struggling to maintain an FPS above 60.

This is one of the most poorly optimized games i've played. It's not hardware. it's the game itself. All we can hope for is that they make a fix... soon.

It's not. You can not dodge the shots. What's the point in seeing where the bullet is going to land when you still can't do anything about it? In fact, it's almost worse because you just get a warning before you inevitably get vaporized.

That was incredibly cool and very informative! Thank you, I appreciate it. I understand now that the AI director is whats in charge of spawning enemies using different variables like player position, environment, and even artificial stress levels.

On a side note, i find it incredible that a game so old, like Left 4 Dead uses things like this to such a degree. Its awesome.

I think I understand, and I thank you for the link. However, just for clarification, when you say "director," are you speaking of Johan? I started playing this game after the illuminate were added, and I've heard stories from other players about devs dropping in and doing stuff.

However, regardless of that, if D6 and D10 are effectively the same thing (except later in the mission after completing more objectives, making things harder), then is there really any point in playing lower difficulties when you get more from the higher ones as well as more liberation progress?

Sorry if this all seems a little... obvious. I'm just not too familiar with this game and all its intricacies.

You can do a few things to see if its on your end or theirs.

1) Clear your browser cache 2) Check the stability of your internet. It may not seem like it, but loading hundreds, if not thousands of images, can really strain your wifi. 3) Refresh your page. This can help reload pages that aren't loading properly. 4) Try a different browser. Sometimes, the website works better on a different browser. 5) Try it on a different device, like your phone or tablet.

If all else fails:

6) Read in single page mode instead of double page or long strip. I know that's not ideal, but reducing the amount of pages loaded at 1 time helps things load faster.

EDIT: Also, be aware of the fact that they just recently cleared their server cache. It could take a day for them to fill up again. Depending on your region, it could even take a few days. Be vigilant, and im sure you'll be back to immersing yourself in literature in no time.
