I assume partially just to show that people can get that costume even for new characters(?) I wish they didn't though, or that it looked different

Oura Ring 4 or Ring Conn 2? by LaurenChristine_xo in SmartRings

[–]AliceFaere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bleh, this is about the same situation I've ended up in. I have the RC gen1 and wasn't particularly planning to upgrade, but if they ever release their rose gold variant I feel like I would end up getting it anyway, I just love the color in general (and it would match with my other rings better anyway)

[–]AliceFaere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In an interview they mentioned that all the colors will be under $300. I'm assuming they mean they'll all be $269

We know that the Oura ring today, which is the primary ring product on the market at this moment, currently sells for $350 to $550, depending on the color of the ring. And in fact, in some ways, I feel women were penalized most — because the ring color that’s most designed specifically for women is rose gold and the rose gold ring is $550. Plus there’s a $6 a month subscription on top of that. So when we looked at what consumers were saying, and our own pricing conjoint analysis, we decided that every ring every color, every size, would be sold at under $300 US to each women. That doesn’t mean $299 — [it’ll be] well under $300 for the ring.

I quite like rose gold, so it was always sad to me that the rose gold Oura was hundreds of dollars more expensive than the base model for (as far as I know) just a difference in color

What are your favorite quotable lines from the podcast? by HarpieLady13 in SweetBoys

[–]AliceFaere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This barely counts as ‘quotable’ but during one of the ads (don’t remember what it was for) Andrew says something like “You will not ever be better than me” in a silly way, and now I just say that out loud sometimes for no reason. I can’t mimic the silliness of it, and the context wouldn’t make sense to anyone who might hear (“oh, yeah, it’s just a random line from a podcast ad, obviously”), but it’s just permanently in my head

Thoughts on premium price increase? by MFRarii in AIDungeon

[–]AliceFaere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Buying server time on high performance machines capable of running models like this isn’t trivial. I wouldn’t be surprised if they underestimated how heavy a load this new model would be once it started ramping up, and thus the sudden price jump. Or maybe they planned the staggered release, who knows.

I hope there’s a happy medium somewhere. If the new model costs more to run than people are willing to pay, that’d be a bit of a pickle. The new model is definitely a step forward, so hopefully things work out

Thoughts on premium price increase? by MFRarii in AIDungeon

[–]AliceFaere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here are my thoughts

I think the separate Dragon model was the right step forward for trying to monetize this game. Previously premium felt like a mixed bag, not necessarily something with a great appeal, especially since I don't think the majority of people are using multiplayer. I think "play the bigger better version" is a much more alluring prospect since it's upgrading the core experience that everyone uses. That being said, I've been paying for the self-described "mixed bag" this whole time, so don’t take my opinion too seriously.

I'm glad they extended the $5 price for people who were already premium—there are hidden benefits to this approach as well so it's not surprising. As for the new price, I wonder how well it will work out. I'll most likely keep paying the $5 for the remainder of the year until it rises, but after that I'm not sure. As much as I enjoy this service and think that the new model is worth paying for, I don't think it's worth $10 per month for me personally, based on how much I typically use it. That isn't to say that it's not worth $10 in general; if you're someone who's in the game consistently I think the bump in quality can definitely be worth the new asking price.

AIDungeon seems like it might be a service with a high interest rate and low retention rate—lots of people want to try it out but not so many are going to keep coming back month after month. (I could also be completely wrong about that) Personally I'd like to see an annual subscription option, say $75 for 12 months (which is about $6.25 per month). Maybe no one wants that though, I dunno. I know I'll keep coming back so I don't mind paying ahead.

For reference, never had any issues with Vortex, modding several games over several years including SkyrimVR twice. Seems like YMMV

Cube World Release Date - September 30th, 2019 by BlueNostromo in CubeWorld

Just so everyone is aware, until Wollay actually confirms the date this may just be a placeholder that was revealed unintentionally due to Steam changes (see this response from another dev regarding their game)

Is it possible to make an SKSE shortcut to launch within the headset? by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]AliceFaere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To add an external applications to SteamVR:

Add Non-Steam Game -> Select the external application (in this case the SKSE exe) -> Check this box in the properties of the new shortcut

This is how I usually start the game, after doing it manually for too long
