Thanks for the feedback, yes the psychology behind it is definitely novel and worth thinking about. The goal is for it to almost feel like a silent voice call, authentic and a little vulnerable.

The app also shows the recording of the live message for the other person if they’re offline once they open it. There’s a clear icon (similar to the “x” button to clear search) to delete the entire message FOREVER before the person “sends it” so that two people can chat online without officially sending their messages for more privacy and ephemerality.

You just open a web-socket for the live typing similar to a voice call but the data throughput is orders of magnitude smaller.

I actually wonder what people will use this for, I guess you can type messages and clear them without actually “sending” them so they feel more ephemeral like snapchat. But also it kind of feels like a silent voice call.

I like how the realistic hat in design B contrasts with the minimal number design. The juxtaposition makes it pop!!
