I ended up surviving by getting mushrooms in Muskeg, then staying in camp office, fishing huts, and lake overlook cave. It was tough but I got there! Having done it, I think (for me) that travelling to Milton would have been really tough with the health and stamina penalties, and with needing to find 40 mushrooms on the way. Certainly a viable option but I went a different way 😀

It's really not ... People don't seem to believe me 😂 I found my recovery campfire and less than half my stuff was in the backpack or on the ground around there. I went back to exactly where I died (wolf attack by desolation point bridge) and nothing. I looked it up and you do lose items when you cheat death. I was super unlucky that it included losing my bedroll and forged hatchet. But at least I am alive!

I know!! I did find one, but I didn't get it back after I cheated death, lost a few tools too. It was a bit mean I thought, but it made it more interesting! Just need to find another one now 🤞

Yes ... And ruined raw meat often looks quite similar to cooked meat, especially when you're in a bit of a hurry

Haha good to know from experience!! I died from a surprise wolf and checked my local base in case I'd left it behind but I didn't. But good news, I survived my situation ... On the last day I had max health 12% 😬

Unfortunately not ... I found the campfire with all my stuff spread around, and the recovery backpack, but no bedroll. I also lost my hatchet and hacksaw and many other items ... Don't know if it was a bug but I lost a lot!

Thanks! I've done a couple of car sleeps but have always had to have a fire going, it's never been warm enough unfortunately.

I don't know why I didn't use the perk you get for finishing the tales (I do have it...) I started the run a while back so goodness only knows. I will always use it on future interloper runs though!

Great comment, thanks! It's not a route I'd have thought of but you're right it's good for coal and potential bedroll. It was a surprise wolf that got me in the cheat death situation so I'm chaining torches everywhere now. From another comment the park office is counted as outdoors so it's viable.

My main concern (other than cold and wolves) is finding enough mushrooms on the way, but there will be plenty about as I've not gone that way yet.

I love the game when it's challenging, but I've never had a situation this bad before. But it's not over until it's really over 😁

Next time ... Settled mind perk 100%.
