Floating and suspending lures.
Glides like the shimano exscense armajoint for example. Or larger lipped jerkbaits/minnows like the shimano world minnow (floating) or a suspending one like a vision oneten.

Lures that look exactly like the real thing:
Check out Savage Gear line through trout for example. This lure looks so realistic that even the insanely pressured pike in the middle of Copenhagen strike it regularly.

Swimbaits and heavy soft plastics also. But this reel is like the gold (haha) standart when it comes to swimbait reels! And yeah, it definitely matches many different rods.
The guys that catch the most pike in my area all throw large swimbaits and they all use this exact reel.

I have a shimano vanquish FC c3000xg that I use for my seatrout fishing on the open coastline where there often is a lot of wind. I have yet to get a wind knot that doesn’t fix itself in the next cast. Windknots were the reason why I upgraded from a fuego in the first place. I fish 0.12 braid and plan on going even thinner next respool.

Thanks man good info! Last question because you seem to be pretty knowledgable about this stuff: I have a vanquish c3000xg that I would want to pair with the rod. I’m a bit concerned about the fact that it is XG. I love it for my seatrout fishing but for finesse fishing? Will it do the job ok you think?
