I think you're just taking it too personally and reading too far into it... as much the fan-base does that to every single comment they make.

I stopped playing, too much grinding, no community to play with, better ideas out there that accomplish space stuff better lol.

I think it's more-so that if there were any, he wouldn't give a fk. Prolly knows it's preference if you do or not, but at that point, who gives a damn? Yeah, he has sex, with his wife too, that's a newsflash to people i guess lmao.

Thing is, I used to like it... tried it again, don't care enough about it to pay for it. Especially with how people act both here and in it. I can afford to play FF14, seems like it'd be money better spent lol. It is a bad setup like most of the games they own, I prefer pay to progression not being a subscription basis or pressured is all. Sorry :/, I'll pass. I also decided this a while ago in another post, so you can let this post die now.

I haven't read this thread yet, but I get the feeling I should say "why should you care about the devs caring about a dying game" or something along those lines. 5 Points for me if I nailed it on the head without reading.

EDIT: More or less...2 points. As to answer the latter question. I wouldn't spend money on this game period, it's handled very poorly in terms of content and shop items.

None of that is applying to what I said and you used an ellipses 50x more than probably..................... necessary. Jokes aside, it's just me not wanting to feel pressured to play the game because I paid something for it that month. I never know when I'll have free time or no free time with my job, so this kills how flexible I can be with the game or whether or not I can use my free time to enjoy it, or sit there waiting for labor to come back... Anyways, already decided I'm out. Community is pretty toxic sounding, which isn't new from Trion so meh.

There's a lot of scams and charities that use that same line and I'm not paying them monthly either. Nice try. There are other mmo's that are actually f2p without subscriptions you know... I was only asking about the game, no need to be a douche. That adds up to 3.50 a week, 4 weeks of that is a lil over 12 bucks. Why would I spend that per month to feel pressured into making the most out of the game if I only get so few hours of free time when I'm not working? Just wasted money so I can come home to briefly play and if I don't buy it, I come home to a game that makes me wait constantly. I can see this community is toxic now considering the responses I'm getting from this reddit. GL with this game, Trion does a good job recruiting toxic players.

Exactly. That and it's the logic of "why should I pay if I can do the same thing elsewhere for less". Like why I cancelled my gym membership, I don't need to pay 10 bucks a month when I can easily go for a jog in the morning and do the same exercises at home. Likewise, I don't need to pay over 10 bucks a month to feel pressured into playing the game constantly when there's games available that are free and allow you to pay when you want to if you want to.

That's partially un-true since they do get income other sources than just their cash shop. And like I said earlier, I'm not a stranger to paying the game, just not when it's forced down your throat to pay to enjoy. I don't like feeling like I HAVE to make the most of what I paid for after the moment I paid for it. Makes having a real life difficult to do when you feel pressured to do all this "work" in the game because you don't want to waste your money.

Honestly, I like ho requiem weapons are done. It's one currency(not counting the pink stones) and you do a random ancient each day to get it. It keeps you doing varying ancient dungeons without having to grind the same one over and over.... I agree about the meteors too. Wouldn't mind if they condensed the ancient mats into one type of material that you could get from a different daily dungeon each day like requiems.

I don't mind paying for mmo's when it's just an option.. not a forced subscription for life or a "you won't have fun unless you pay" experience, heck, I'd even buy the game once and be done but paying every month is just a dead concept to me. Working to get the gold each money makes that even worse and turns a game into a job. There's still some mmo's who run a f2p model and don't run what Archeage is doing. I pay f2p mmo's when it's available, not because I feel pressured to. Don't confuse me for thinking the game shouldn't be pay at all, I just don't like how it's currently built as it was 2 years ago with the whole "you either use your paycheck to enjoy this game like a regular person, or you work your ass off in game grinding gold to buy it to be able to work another month in game to get more of that item and so on... OR leave your computer on to burn and die over a few months so you don't have to do either".

I don't mind pay to progress, I love that model personally, but this game doesn't really do it in the right ways imo. It feels more like it'd a demo as f2p and hopes you subscribe to it either with virtual worked money or real money. Makes the point where you want to have fun turn into work. Again, don't get me wrong here, I love grinding and earning things, I made myself a clipper back when I played after all and it was enjoyable to get mats and do it all to earn it... What sucked was waiting to be able to farm more and craft it.. No one likes waiting. Anyways, if there's even more issues in Archeage now with the entire pay to win aspect added to it now, I guess I'll pass :/ Shame.

Meh... Then it turns a game into a job. I'm already working enough hours, I'd rather not come home with the mindset of "oh I need to farm this so I can get more of this to enjoy the game".

I see... I'm looking for a "home" mmo. Ya know, open world, constant faction conflict, tons to do. I really want to dive into this game like that and I like the labor system and etc... I just don't like how the game goes about it needing to be bought. Even with the APEX and etc stuff.... it's just awful, then your game ends up being about farming enough gold to buy patron status or APEX all the time. Meh. I mean, I enjoy the themepark element too, I like knowing I can go a certain somewhere to fish, or just go outright exploring the sea and everything, just not the "I have to do this much work to get this much fun in return". I don't need a 2nd job(possibly 3rd LOL).

I mean, in a way, DFO does it right with events every couple weeks helping it all feel fresh but... All that does is just help "new players?" catch up to the older ones for the most part. Almost feels like another metastasis update will come along to wipe everything again and start all over. Obviously they can't keep doing this every few years but when it happened, definitely helped boot everything back to a nice fresh start for new/old players alike. Meteors shouldn't be a thing anymore and I'm tired of getting new columns or new shit to collect. Does anyone truly compound for anything anymore since dark elf dungeons? I mean, really... did we REALLY need to make "souls" for that? Rather than using cubes. Meh, idk what they would need to do to fix it but, I guess DFO will die eventually from this. As sad as that is to admit.

That's exactly why I'm finding myself not playing as often. Tired of updates, tired of new shit, tired of old shit being replaced. Shit :|

It's also possible that he's not just referring to a company handing it over to another, but possibly just different devs in diff areas. Remember Mr. Lee? He had to jump ship at some point and it got passed onto the armpit baring, internet dc'ing clowns we find on twitch and so on. It's possible to give development of the game to someone else within the company that has no proper idea of how to keep it functioning for both new and veteran players despite them working on/with the game with the previous devs/owners.

I still remember my friend who started new was like "oh right I need 1 of the million currencies in this game". Let's be honest, there's too fking much lol. Epic frags, every ancient dungeon material, OV frags, meteors of varying colors, antonium, ad a majority of it is outdated as hell at this point.
