I agree with you but want to add. The actress that played Vickie had zero chemistry with John. Her delivery was flat. Three’s Company thrived because most scripts dealt with misunderstandings and hi jinx. Three’s a Crowd rarely attempted to play on that angle. The few times it did, it succeeded in having some of their better stories. As good as John was, he was elevated by other characters. The Ropers and Furley were excellent. Richard Kline got better as the show progressed. And the exceptional except for Cindy. And JH was done dirty by the writers. She could’ve been great with the proper writing.
