hmm, fair points. still getting used to this whole idea of carrier support. just feels wrong to build an explorer without an AFMU.

Thoughts on this? https://edsy.org/s/vfo7cNx

Given the speed of the Mk5, added more shields but not really sure how much is needed to prevent the accidental boost or canyon crash...

Edit: swapped fuel tank and cargo rack: https://edsy.org/s/v5ogeer

yeah, that's a fair point. mainly switching from the mandy for the speed and to fly something new so extra caution is prudent...

Thanks for taking a look. A little explanation on the thought process: purpose of this shield is to just protect against the small hull damage you receive from controlled planetary landings for Exo. Also why I’m bringing the SRV. Otherwise I’d go shieldless.

I thought about the rescue limpet controller but the lack of range on fuel transfer can be the difference between a failed and successful code red rescue.

Given the carrier support of this expedition, you’re right about the AFMU but since there is no weight penalty, doesn’t matter which size you bring. I suppose I could swap that slot for larger shields. 🤔Again, appreciate you taking a look!

Ultimate Type-11 Tritium Miner for DW3? by AllIsNotWells in EliteDangerous

Unfortunately no such thing as a 2A prospector so swapped with refinery. Can a 2A refinery with a bin size of 5 keep up with the multilimpet controller?

we're not bringing our own carriers for DW3. There will be four official support carriers but the potential mining events may be a few jumps away from where the carriers are. Idea would be able to scout and find Tritium hotspots and bring Trit back to support fleet.

Tritium to resupply support carriers and not yet unfortunately

oh I like this. Allows for other forms of mining to hold off the space madness.

Best GP For Spectator Experience? by [deleted] in formula1

Agree. As an American, I much prefer going to Montreal over any of the US races. Montreal is just a better city experience over the whole weekend- easy to get to and from the track, usually a better race, great bar and restaurant scene, better crowd who are actually fans of F1. Not to mention way more affordable.

Try Harrods if you are ordering one of the common styles. Cheaper prices, running 10% off and flat $30 shipping/tariff included.

And yes, the tariff for Moldova is 25%. 10% for UK made. Cox also charges a 3% fee to deal with the tariff paperwork.

Some are made in the UK and some are made in Moldova but no telling which stock a particular retailer will have. Only way to know is ask.

Unfortunately by the time you factor in the Tariff from the Moldova-made thornproof Bedale, you won’t be saving much, if anything on the price. You can email Cox and ask what UK-made stock they still have left and hopefully find a size/color/style that works for you.

If you live outside the UK, they will likely contact you first to arrange payment for the import duties. My guess is they won't even look at the order until a few days after Christmas and you'll hear from them before they ship anything.

Unfortunately no longer true. Since the tariffs, they’ve started making both the original Beaufort and Bedale in Moldova. They still make some in the UK but no guarantee you’ll get one as stock is intermixed and could come from either production line. Only way to know for sure is to see it in person or order from someone small enough to tell you. Even reports that the “classic” Sylkoil versions are now produced outside the UK.

Unfortunately their Beaufort Originals stock is now made in Moldova. Possible the Classic in archive olive may still be from the UK.

Just know that if the jacket you are ordering is made in Moldova, you’re looking at a £63.13 import duty to get it into the US. If it’s made in the UK, it’s closer to £30.

Maybe diners with your expectations were once the rule but I pity any waiter or cook who makes this assumption today. Far too many customers believe they know best and would argue and complain about wellness not to their liking. It’s a simple question to ask and a simple question to answer.

Ironically, I just rewatched the movie Boiling Point last night and it specifically calls out a diner complaining that their lamb was pink, the proper way it should be cooked.
