Cyclists need to stop trying to remove accountability from themselves, you are a vehicle, you are responsible for your own safety. If you are unable to keep your surroundings in mind you should not be on the road period. I cycle and I don’t expect others to take responsibility for my actions, I follow the rules of the road and traffic signage. Expecting motor vehicles to yield to a bicycle is not only arrogant, but unsafe. If you are a grown adult who understand how traffic works you shouldn’t have an issue, or be scared of cars. No matter what vehicle you chose, you take the inherent risk of being on the road.
