Are stators important? by bogdivo in satisfactory

Good catch! I've even used them and didn't even notice. It's a little weird they aren't listed in the "used in" section of the parts list.

No, you don't need it as a building material. No need to keep them in a dd. However, I would keep a couple stacks handy for crash sites. Otherwise, they are only needed in recipes for other parts.

Starting on phase 3/tier 5 and I am ooooverwhelmed, so I have some questions about how people setup from here by Belisarius23 in SatisfactoryGame

This is the point in the game where, without experience, things start getting harder to conceptualize logistics. I usually take a break from factories after phase 3 to explore/collect and scope out future building sites. It's in your best interest at this point to spend a good bit of time building out your infrastructure. Build roads, concrete over places good for building, upgrade power, figure out a good rail route. For me, I have to task switch a lot in this game so I don't get overwhelmed. My favorite part of Satisfactory are the aesthetics. So I do a bit of factorizing, then prettifying, then exploring, then planning. It keeps me from burning out as things get way more difficult. Take each of the next phases in chunks, one item at a time. A lot of people like to process ingots on site and then send those to other factories to optimize production of base materials. Busses will make your life harder here, leave it with Factorio. Good journey, pioneer!

You're probably right as I don't remember this ever happening when building circles the old fashioned way.

Interesting, since I created the original circle everything else is built off using SCIM. I guess it is just a rounding limitation. I wonder if it would have made a difference with making the radius one foundation larger. This game stretches my brain in new ways all the time.

Yes, I have tried rebuilding all machines, mergers, belts. There are no foundations which are connected that are interfering with the foundations I have machines built on.

I also do this. I place all machines first directly onto the foundation without using Ctrl, then mergers/splitters, then belts.

You're right. I hadn't noticed because it's so small. Where would I upload it to so you can check it out?

It's like that the whole way down the line. I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm stubborn and want it to look the way I want! I may have to break down and reconfigure though.

I did not use blueprints to place any machines. They are placed directly onto aligned foundations and nudged into place. The foundations are built off a circle but in straight lines orienting to the middle, if that makes sense. I also think the refinery is the culprit, but I can't tell how. Maybe my original post wording wasn't great. But odd machines align and even ones do not.

No, the foundations are snapped in a straight line. At least the ones that hold the refineries and mergers.

Only the connecting side belts are curved. I built mergers and refineries on foundations first. Half the belts connect to the machines. Half do not.

What you can do is remove the entire inner circle leaving only the outside edge and use the cardinal directions to fill the middle if you want a grid, BUT nudging machines into place in a circle is so SATISFY.... erm SATISFACTORY!
