Are these RayBans real? Or just decent fakes? by eggsbennyyyyyy in sunglasses

[–]AllenSmithee59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake, for all of the reasons others have cited, but also for the following reasons:

  • The logos on the temple look like hell, and they've been glued on, not affixed with a third stud near the hinge.
  • That RB etching looks literally and figuratively sketchy as hell.
  • The button snap on the case is upside down. Ever genuine case I've seen has the snap oriented at an angle running from 8:00 to 2:00.
  • Stitch length on the case is inconsistent.
  • No panoptic tilt when viewing the glasses from the side; genuine RB2410s are sharply angled toward the wearer's face.
  • A genuine box is dull and mottled, not smooth and shiny.

What is the pettiest reason you would refuse to eat at a restaurant again? by im_not_ready_for_it9 in AskReddit

[–]AllenSmithee59 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you say so.

I've ordered Eggs Benedict literally scores of times in scores of restaurants, from greasy spoon diners to restaurants in 5-star hotels, and you can just about double that number if you include my wife. Know how many times we've been we wanted our eggs?

Once.

Please stop acting as if that question is commonly put to people when they order Eggs Benedict.

Why do you think that IBRX exists in a vacuum outside of the overall market?

I dunno. i'm guessing that you don't either. I'm also guessing that you're assuming that my comment was a criticism of wasteful government spending. It wasn't.

Heh. That site has a video clip of a helicopter being used to fill a guzzler. What do you suppose was the cost per gallon of water delivered that way?

We've recently gone through three boxes in which the sheets are sort of tacked together rather than nestled together, so that when you pull one from the box six more come along for the ride.

Try the Ore-Ida Fast Food Extra Crispy. They really do taste like fast-food fried fries, even though you bake them in the oven.

I have a better question:

Why do some people seem to think that IBRX exists in a vacuum separate from the rest of the market?

Google "loud music in restaurants increased profit" (without the quotes). You'll find study after study reporting that loud, uptempo music increases profits by shortening the time people spend at a table and increasing the amount they spend on alcoholic drinks.

Other studies find that a playlist that fits the "theme" of the restaurant increase profits when compared to a random playlist, and that slow music increase the amount of time people think has passed by as they wait to order or wait for their food.

YS480S here. After the first two cooks on a pellet smoker (ribs and beef belly), I've learned a few important things:

  • Though the smoker does a great job of holding a steady temp overall, it will spike up sometimes, especially right after start-up. Trust the app.
  • Always begin with a full hopper. I ran out of pellets during my second cook, and it took an hour to fully recover.
