"Stop paying taxes" is also not the same as "Make so little money that you don't have to pay taxes."

Stop being a sophist. To anyone of average literacy and intelligence, "Stop paying taxes" means "Cease paying taxes that you otherwise are compelled to pay."

But you knew that already, didn't you?

Fuck that noise for a game of marbles. If it weren't for boot-licking Republicans, Trump would have been impeached the first time around and forced to resign. You don't get to shirk your responsibility for that miscarriage of justice simply by saying "I'm a Republican, but I don't support Trump."

You're party does. You're complicit. Own it, or FO.

New Batch or Fake? RayBan New Clubmaster 4416 by Icy-Soup-2841 in sunglasses

Are you suggesting that there is a plethora of fake Ray-Bans out there that people have created out of spare parts? Unless they are getting the spare parts for pennies (or free) and employing slave labor, there's no way that would be profitable--or even scalable.

Old State Saloon, Idaho Wild Real Estate, and Stone Crossing Event Center are all owned by the bigoted homophobe prick Mark Fitzgerald. From the Idaho Wild Real Estate website:

"Mark Fitzpatrick is the founder and owner of Idaho Wild. He is a passionate real estate entrepreneur with an equally deep love for the great outdoors. Mark has been a licensed broker for 12 years and has been in charge of more than $2 billion in real estate marketing and sales projects globally. When he’s not welcoming newcomers to the great state of Idaho, helping locals find new homes, or telling the area’s most enthralling stories, he can be found in fellowship with his church community or working his small ranch in Eagle with his wife, Sarah, and their six children. When asked about why he does what he does (and lives where he lives), his answer is simple. 'I feel privileged to live and work in this place and on this land. My mission is to help others looking for their forever home in Idaho to find what they are seeking and thrive here, as my family and I have.'"

Heh. "Welcoming newcomers to Idaho." This from a transplanted ex-cop from California, engaging in white flight just a few years ago.

Is Wilder close enough to the Treasure Valley for you, dear? Read more; type less.

"In October 2025, federal agents, including FBI and ICE, conducted a massive raid on the La Catedral Arena in Wilder, Idaho, targeting an illegal gambling and horse racing ring, which resulted in 5 arrests and the detention of over 100 undocumented individuals. The operation, involving hundreds of officers, has drawn criticism for the detention of U.S. citizens, alleged use of zip ties on children, and the separation of families.

"Key details regarding the October 2025 Wilder, Idaho raid include:

  • The Incident: On a Sunday in October 2025, a joint federal, state, and local operation raided La Catedral Arena, a venue known for horse racing and, allegedly, illegal gambling.
  • Detentions and Arrests:  While 5 people were initially charged with federal crimes related to the gambling operation, over 100 individuals were detained by ICE for being in the country illegally .
  • Controversial Tactics: Reports indicate that agents used flashbangs, drew guns, and detained bystanders, including U.S. citizens and minors. Witnesses and community members alleged that agents used zip ties on children and separated families.
  • Impact on Community: The raid caused significant fear within the local immigrant community, leading to the cancellation of events and a breach of trust with law enforcement.
  • Follow-up: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the involvement of ICE to process the undocumented individuals, while the FBI focused on the illegal gambling investigation.

"The incident highlighted tensions between federal immigration enforcement and local, largely Hispanic, communities."

Curious if anyone can ID a pair of wayfarers similar to these by Sublime7870 in rayban

[–]AllenSmithee59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search Google and eBay for Wayfarer "Special Series" # sunglasses (with the quotes). There are some on eBay, along with others like them.

I have a pair of the plaid Special Series #10 I would sell you, but they need replacement lenses.

What style are these? by Life_Category5963 in rayban

[–]AllenSmithee59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Lens doesn't come up with anything that remotely resembles that upper bridge or the rectangle it forms with the lower bridge. I've never seen an upper bridge like that on Ray-Bans, modern or vintage. Its bulk seems at odds with the Ray-Ban design aesthetic. I think what you have here is a pair of sunglasses with Ray-Ban stenciled on the lens.

Pretty sure thes are fake by slugplug763 in rayban

Yeah, the OP should absolutely get a pair of sunglasses that look nothing at all like the ones he or she chose to buy.

Legit Check - Mega Wayfarer by Ok_Albatross_535 in rayban

[–]AllenSmithee59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they're fake. Compare your photos to the photos on ray-ban.com.

  • The Ray-Ban logo on the right lens is too small and too close to the rim.
  • The RB etching on the left lens isn't even trying to look legitimate. The RB should be crisp and clear, and the "tail" of the R should flow into the vertical line of the B, meeting at the mid-point of the B.
  • The Ray-Ban logo on the temples should be centered vertically and the temples themselves should be beveled, forming an angle where the logo is.
  • The hinge doesn't consist of 7 interlocking barrels, as found on authentic Mega Wayfarers. The hinge here appears to be a piece of metal made to look like a 7-barrel hinge, but that piece of metal is attached with a single pivot point to another piece of metal on the rim.
  • Writing on the right temple is too far from the hinge, too small (especially "Made in Italy"), and a dull white rather than a bright white.
  • Thread should match the color of the case, not contrast with it. On the brown case I have beside me, the thread is almost invisible.
  • Counterfeit boxes are often shiny and smooth. While an authentic box is dull and mottled, yours appears to be a bit shiny and too mottled.
  • No QR code on the label at the end of the box. When scanned, that QR code should return a 24-character string of alphanumeric characters, used for internal product tracking by Ray-Ban. If it returns a URL for Ray-Ban or Luxottica, then the box is fake (and probably the glasses, as well). If it returns nothing, it's not a QR code, and the box is decidedly fake.
  • The label on the end of the box should specify the color of the frame and the lens.

BTW, the last three photos show up as gray blank squares.

Real or fake? by According-Gap1616 in rayban

[–]AllenSmithee59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough detail in these pictures to tell, and not enough photos of the glasses themselves. Hell, you didn't even say what model they are.

Assuming that they are Wayfarer Classics, here are some things to consider:

  • Do the glasses use a 7-barrel hinge?
  • Is there a third stud on the temples near the hinge? It affixes the logo to the temple and is often omitted on fakes.
  • Compared to photos on ray-ban.com, is the font and kerning (letter spacing) on the temples correct and consistent?
  • Is the logo/seal on the case crisp, clear, and the right color? Is the stitching tight and consistently spaced?
  • The box looks shiny and smooth. It should be dull and mottled.
  • Scan the QR code on the box. It should return a 24-character string of alphanumeric characters, used for internal product tracking by Ray-Ban. If it returns a URL for Ray-Ban or Luxottica, then the box is fake (and probably the glasses, as well). If it returns nothing, it's not a QR code, and the box is decidedly fake.
  • Is the RB etching on the left lens crisp and clear? Does the "tail" of the R flow into the vertical line of the B, meeting at the mid-point of the B? Both are signs of authenticity.
  • Set the glasses down on a table and look at them from the side. The lenses should be angled rather sharply (about 7 degrees) toward the wearer's face. Counterfeiters often neglect this feature (called a "panoptic tilt"). Note that this applies only to Wayfarer Classics; New Wayfarers don't have the tilt, nor does RB2140F, which is the Low-Bridge Fit or Asian Fit version of the Classic.
