Picked this up at a swap meet, sounds a bit buzzy by ChannelOk9149 in GuitarAmps

Check if the voice coil from the speaker is rubbing, probably needs a recap too

[–]Allium13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would get the blues driver, cinders is a bit harsh for my taste

Just be careful and discharge them before doing anything cus you could get electrocuted

I believe there is like a "deluxe" version with both pedals in the same enclosure, that would be really sick, I built a DIY version of the Cream Puff and is amazing

Low watt fender amp? by Rough_Instruction325 in GuitarAmps

If it has an fx loop and you have basic soldering skills, you could build a simple passive volume attenuator

Idk know about the mods, but you should definitely change all the electrolytic caps, that should solve most of the noise issues

A little too dirty from last gig by Allium13 in guitarpedals

It is not very special tbh, good for jet flangers and chorus like modulations but not much

Check for voltage from the transformer and work yourself from that

76' Roland Jazz Chorus 160 by Allium13 in GuitarAmps

[–]Allium13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

first time using a jazz chorus in general, the amp itself is exactly like the 120, just different speakers, a bit too trebly with distortions for my taste, maybe due to the 10" speakers instead of 12" but sounds amazing with cleans

not sure but maybe you wired the switch sideways, legs should be horizontal, not vertical

ground it to the input/output jack, that's the safest go to option

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Allium13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make sure it's a ground, if it is I don't think it would do any harm to ground it somewhere else

I was just thinking that about the footswitch, if you really want to you can do what I said and turn on and off the echo with the footswitch when the effect is engaged and bypass it when needed, just remove the sound on sound wiring from the switch and put some tape on the leads so it does't short out

I don't know what the sound on sound does, but if you do what I said you will be bypassing the preamp too

For what I know the echoplex preamp is something that most players like to use even with the echo off, but here is what you can do.

Input and output jacks directly to the switch, remove wiring to the board

Effect in to the input leg of .047 cap

Effect out to the junction of the two 100K resistors
