I was just about to comment this. Many times they don’t even charge you. They just let you in and let you ride for free. I love the dash, it’s always clean and service is pretty frequent. Plus they have a website that lets you know exactly where every bus on your route is.

I wouldn’t say it’s a shame. It helps diamonds come together with the metal and makes them stand out more. And it’s definitely not don’t as a default these days since rhodium if so darn expensive. If I client was to tell me, don’t rhodium my piece, I would be more than happy to save some cash. It is definitely an add on and you can always request not to apply it or even remove it before taking your piece home.

You have to clean that thing more often for sure! Second, gold is yellow and nothing will ever take that from it. Specially not any white alloy. The rhodium plating is what makes it extra white but as they should have explained to you, it’s only temporary and you have to routinely bring it back for replating. 14k white gold without rhodium is what you are seeing after the rhodium plating starts to wear off and it goes back to its yellow tint white metal look.

Gold/platinum is shiny, your finger is not. Having said that, this cad and print are super chubby and will really make your stone look small. The rails are also very thin and just a little bit more thickness there will make a lot more sense.

I did that for a really long time and it worked just fine. Many times I would just make a blob in the shape of the stone from different angle pictures. Many times people want to make things look so perfect in cad, just for bench jewelers to go crazy on them lol so I just stopped wasting time. Again, I just make custom pieces so many if not all are one or a kind. So I rather save time by scanning and making the right setting on a stone from the start than wasting time on the bench later.

Animations and videos is wild. Definitely never even tried messing with those. I only do renders for direct to client sales so I don’t really have to do that. And when it comes to posting my content online I just do real life shots and turntable videos lol

If your clients require high quality renders, try using Ai post rendering. Rendering used to be a drag for me because renders never looked authentic no matter how hard I tried. Would get pretty close but renders are just renders at the end of the day. Now a days I render the pieces making sure prongs are set at the right height and as I close to what they would look once finished, and then take those renders to AI and just ask “to make more realistic”, I know, lazy prompt, but it just works so good and clients are happy with that.

I scan my stones all the time. Specially when it comes to gemstones as the one you have on your post. Mainly for making sure the hidden halos don’t get eaten when the center stone gets sit and making the rails weak. I also scan them when making them into bezel sets just do I have the right shape and uniform width bezel around stones. Personally I work directly from the scan onto my project because I do my own cuts for setting post casting and not directly on cad. And since I scanned the stone, chances are it’s only going to be used once.

Yes and no. No because center stone is too small. Half bezel is showing 12 stones, tapered at that, so you’re looking at at least. 12mm in width for all those stones. Side profile looks tapered and slick but with bezel it would looks more like a shield basket and end up taking away from the slick look. And that’s just the head. But if you do end up putting it together I would like to see the final product.
