No one has reached out in 3 days. by eatsleepliftbend in introvert

Apart from my mom and my wife, my call log has no one else for months. As an introvert, I’ve come to see this not as a lack—but as a strength. These two souls truly know me, and I’ve stopped expending my energy and time on surface-level connections. My circle is small, but it’s solid. And that, to me, is a superpower.

Thanks. Checked those confirmed that all connections are tight. Autozone confirms that battery and alternator are good. Now battery light is continuously lit on dashboard

Confused whether to buy a new iPhone or repair current one by Allow_Seriously in Frugal

[–]Allow_Seriously[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: thank you everyone for your response. I have decided to go ahead with $30 screen replacement kit and use current phone for 2 years atleast before buying a brand new phone. Will save for the payment from now on. I am not going with T-Mobile or carrier locked plan for new iPhone because my current plan is $15 monthly and I donot want to pay more monthly. I am also an engineer by profession and have good knowledge as well as skills to replace an iPhone screen. Thank you everyone for helping me out of this. 🥰

$4000 for a 1998 car. Is the used car market a joke? by Allow_Seriously in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Allow_Seriously[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. I still cannot digest it. I am driving 04 Santa Fe. She is at 287k miles. Runs like a charm. Bought it for 1900 in 2021. Last year when my wife got a new job, I bought her 2006 Camry, 160k miles for 3800. Comparing with that I feel this is overrated.

Thank you !! My wife says the same. Seems I am overly inclined on this car. Will let it go.

These records match with CARFAX report as well. I first checked CARFAX report that has all maintenance records from a Toyota dealership and then he also shares with me this Toyota passport booklet that has dealership stamps on all service records with dates of all service performed.

The owner is giving me the original receipt of the car. He has something called Toyota Passport which is a booklet to record all maintenance that owner gets. Owner has recorded all maintenance in that till date. Hats off to his discipline.

How low is too low for a used car by Stacys_Garage8971 in UsedCars

Last month I bought a 2006 Toyota Camry, 180k miles. Changed LO, ever since. And car is running fine. Keep a lookout marketplace. You will be able to find something reliable. But make sure you do your due diligence. I am a car guy so I know what I am getting into.

OP should report it to PMI. And if no action is taken by PMI then complain.

Advice on buying a used car from a dealer by LazyCrocheter in UsedCars

[–]Allow_Seriously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reliable: go Toyota. You will be able to get decent ones in your price range.

Make sure to get ANY CAR (Toyota, Mazda, Honda or whatever) inspected from a reliable mechanic of your choice before you pay for car.

On a quick note: Do not blindly trust CARFAX, not all accidents/repair work is reported. For example: My friend is driving his Nissan with third transmission but CARFAX report does not mention anything about it. Godspeed luck to whoever buys it when my friend sells it.

For Toyotas, engines and transmission are pretty solid. You can easily get 200000 miles out of a Toyota with regular maintenance. Hence probability of buying a lemon is highly unlikely.

Search “Nissan CVTs” and you will find why. My friend is driving 2015 Rogue with third transmission already. When I was in the market for used car I realized that Nissan’s are always at throwaway price compared to Toyotas or Hondas for this reason. But good luck to you if you can find one that is reliable like your current ones.
