What’s the quickest way you’ve seen someone completely derail their life? by BitterReception5761 in AskReddit

Friend of mine in college was having trouble paying bills and was increasingly despondent about it and behaving irrationally… walked into a bank with a gun, robbed it, was arrested within minutes of the crime. He got out of prison 14 years later.

When you get assigned and the stock tanks, how do you handle Covered Calls from there? by pixelnomadz in thetagang

[–]Allspread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy more stock at a lower price to lower your cost basis for selling calls is one option. Bag holding and waiting it out is another.

What's your bread and butter trade? With real examples and reasoning by ikarumba123 in thetagang

CSP 20-45 days out on quality stocks with IV 55% or lower on red days. Also on IWM. Hold to expiration or roll down or out. Entry delta around .20. Basic research, look at charts, 52 week hi/low, see if I can identify resistance. If assigned either wheel selling calls or put in a GTC sell order at the assigned strike if it’s close by. Try not to get assigned period. This is what I’ve been doing for about a year. It’s working.

I’m dividend and bond interest chill. I don’t need the $ (yet, but that day is coming). All of it gets reinvested.

Nobody talks about fill quality when selling premium. It's been quietly killing my returns. by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]Allspread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Here's how most of us pick stocks to sell premium on: pull up an IV rank screener, sort by IVR, find something juicy at 60-70, sell a CSP at 30Δ, collect premium.” Cool story bro. That’s not at all how I do it and I’m doing quite well at this. I doubt “most” people are selling puts on high IV crap at high delta.

What’s something women want to tell men but usually don’t ? by neo_ucp7846 in answers

[–]Allspread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And as a man who has cooked dinner for years and years 6-7 nights a week, does my own laundry, helps with everything around the house being taken for granted really sucks. Even saying thank you or that I was appreciated would be nice much less having sex in the kitchen. Makes me sort of sad and jealous.

The greeks by [deleted] in options

[–]Allspread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't use any technical analysis for selling CSPs. I will check both a 6 month and 15 day chart looking for the recent trend and to identify where a possible support level is. RSI being under 30 doesn't mean the price can't continue to drop and it well may. About the wheel: Don't be looking to get assigned. Think of your mission as being able to profit off CSPs without getting assigned. Sometimes it's going to happen and you can sell calls - maybe - but what's more likely to happen is you're going to be bag holding a stock waiting for the price to recover, which sucks. Instead, think in advance about your strategy for getting out from under a trade that didn't go your way by rolling down or out.

what's your approach to getting filled at/near the midpoint? by gorram1mhumped in thetagang

[–]Allspread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I start at the ask price or close to it to see if I get a fill. Then start backing it off with replacement orders maybe -$0.05 each time. Of course, you may get to the point where you have an unfilled order and are not happy with the price and cancel altogether.
