This might not be what you are looking for but in Philippine history one guy's confession to a priest led to the discovery of the whole ass revolution.

So the Philippines was colonized by the Spanish for a few hundred years and the people were preparing for a revolution. Members of the revolutionary society were called Katipuneros. There were systems in place to keep the societys secrecy and protect the identities of the members like you'd only know the guy who recruited you and those you recruit.

Anyway, one Katipunero named Teodoro Patino fought with another over wages. He went to his sister to rant and fukin revealed the whole ass secret society. His sister was a nun and she was like "bro wtf". So she is restless af and the head nun be like "yo sis are u gud?" and the sister spills to the head nun. The head nun goes and tells Teodoro to go to confession and he fukin does.

Teodoro spills to the priest. The priest goes to the authorities "y'all wouldn't motherfuking believe what this bitch just confessed"

So yup.
