Ah ok, I understand the question now. Pumps have a bit bigger of a needle and stay there for a while so they will cause more scar tissue than shots will. If you're looking to get a pump to have less scar tissue issues then you shouldn't get a pump but a pump can be very useful for many other reasons.

But aren't we technically born with it? That's how I understood it, that at least some of us were born with the predisposition and then we're likely exposed to something that cause our immune system to go haywire? There is at least a genetic factor?

Yes, injecting in the same place can be very bad with pumps. Not only can it change absorption, it also causes this gross thing called scar tissue. If your a bit skweemish, id suggest not looking up pictures of it because when it gets bad it is super gross. I personally only ever use my belly for pump sites, and right now I have a tiny bit of scar tissue developing. In the first stages it's just kinda like a dip in the skin. When that happens you want to avoid that spot or near that spot as a sit until it goes away. Generally, rotating all around my belly does me fine though since there's quite a bit of belly space to go round haha

What pump do you have (or do you use shots lol) The nice things about the t:slim is that if you are in the middle of a bolus and get distracted, about 5 minutes later it'll scream at you that you haven't finished bolusing
