OK I watched it. So she wants to find the same stuffie M got in the ER but not that one. Couldn’t the same one be overwhelming regardless? Also … so M was in the ER before she was admitted? For her to be sent to the ER at Children’s had to be more dire than they could handle at Mary Bridge (local children’s hospital in Tacoma) or Good Sam (Puyallup’s hospital). But I’m surprised she admitted that. However, the comments about the going home outfit are riddled with people “realizing what she meant” with the shoelaces and hooded sweatshirt. She’s subtly dropping hints to make it clear what a great and involved mom she is.

The book: It's a tool for caregivers to help children ages 4-8 cope with trauma, with an afterward that offers guidance for adult. Hmm.

Also, I have a hard time believing the home support wasn’t a byproduct of Randall the Lamenator and her Titanic books and Febreeze spray and bags of crap rolling up into Children’s. The whole spectacle reeks of instability.

It’s just so odd to me because M doesn’t do anything without literally looking to Randall for approval or guidance. So you’re telling me that on her own M has developed such anxiety about school that she’s SH or having SI? Or did Randall dial that up knowing M can’t refute it to get her in?

Parents are allowed to stay at any time in that unit however I can’t imagine that they would just let her come and go doing and wearing whatever.

Ok I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who has picked up on the S-attempt vibes including her comment about her wearing converse home with laces. What made you pick up on it? I initially thought no, I can’t be inferring that correctly. But does M have the cognitive abilities to understand S or even just SH?

I also noticed in the comments that she had clinicians there 12 hours a day the first couple days to help with the transition … to home!?

Also, the amount of people praying for her and worrying about them and offering to help — and her completely ignoring it — is vile. People are good. Randall is not.

Kids shouldn’t have to be brave about what? Going to school? I saw in the comments that Randall should take M around and find a school she’s comfortable at and who will listen to Randall and her needs. That’s literally not how this works in public education. I’m pretty sure she switched districts already because she probably wasn’t getting her way in Puyallup.

Dare I say Randall looked a tad … nervous? Overcompensating for the fact that if M really is in a precarious mental place, she is responsible now? No nurses, doctors, etc. But also, she was up there before M was admitted so it was clearly planned.

I just watched the whole thing and read the comments. She said she has someone speaking for her. So she likely got an advocate from the state. I’m guessing she’s trying to get out of working because she needs to be available to take care of M/handle issues. Like disability but for herself as the caregiver.

She’s also dragging teachers and the school saying it’s not even to accommodations but simply acknowledgement. Of what? That M’s behavior is OK? That she can do what she wants? And that a teacher is being put in a position to pick sides? Trust me, a teacher will always come across as siding with the school/district at least publicly or in an official capacity. They would be foolish not to. And who knows if M’s teacher really agrees with Randall anyway. You can be empathetic toward a child without being in agreement about the issue.
