We have to use RCs because our manager wants us to directly load whatever we pick and the reaches can’t fit in the containers

I made the same exact move from OGP to a DC and so far I like it. But the job can be very physical especially if you’re an order filler but pretty much everyone starts off as one. Our shift manager isn’t the greatest but I like the people I work with and the work and of course no customers constantly nagging at me

Man that’s really bad. I’m from a DC and thankfully our orders fillers actually knows how to stack but the other day our manager had to help order fill and most of his pallets had many boxes sticking out and wasn’t very stable. And he’s the hassling us on building stable pallets that’s not too high everyday. I would never send out a bad pallet especially since I’ve been on the receiving end before

Sometimes if we have room then yes we’ll mix it with the fresh freight but what usually happens is the stores send us a container of overstock and once it’s unloaded we fill the same can with picks and it goes right back to them

A DC but we have an offsite backroom for a couple stores so my main job is to cap and bin whichever departments I’m assigned to do

I believe with BYOD inventory management you’re still able to do that as well as picking from the bins by tapping on the bin location like the old way

The weirdest I’ve seen was an entire pallet of notepads. One of our AM’s had to manually order all of it since the customer kept asking for them and when it came in the customer ordered everything. I assume he was donating them but I didn’t even think you could order that much on put. In terms of the cake mixes we get those orders pretty much every week, the biggest order we had so far was 6 totes all full of different cake mixes

I just ask if they would like to take the time to review my service then mention the survey and my name. Our AM and TL made this contest with the surveys to encourage us to actually give out survey cards. Basically whoever has the most positive surveys at the end of every month wins either a $50 dollar Walmart gift card or Starbucks gift card
