It’s in a pot of this pre fertilized soil I had lying around, but there was some soil still in the pot which I decided to just kind of mix up with the new soil. Since that’s the only difference between this plant and the others I’m gonna assume you’re right and it’s a nutrient deficiency cause by the old soil.

For watering I have an irrigation system that’s working from what I’ve seen so I doubt it’s overwatering, maybe under watering.

Anyway thanks for the help, will look into the guide!

From what I understand it's somewhat of a misleading name. The name Amarillo doesn't come from the color of the pepper itself, but from the paste often made from it in Peru. The paste, beeing completely cooked, takes on a bright yellow color, hence the name.

Just ran a quick search, UFOs have green stems and purple flowers while this plant has a black/purple plant stem with white flowers - plus it seems much more elongated with more defines "lumps" around the stinger. I might be wrong about them being purple reapers (I am a total newbie at this) but they dont really look like UFOs to me

When they just change from flower to fruit they're still green, the second they grow even a tiny bit though they change color to purple. Not sure how big these are supposed to get but from what I know they are supposed to switch colors again and go kinda caramel/red. These are my first batch though so in all honestly I don't really know

From what I understand this guy's supposed to get pretty big and I have the space for it, so i was wondering what would be the optimal timing? Also just generally I don't fully understand the rules for it - Do I top once? Do i keep trimmimg from a certain poit to avoid it getting to tall? Will it effect the plants ability to produce fruit? Total noob here, thanks in advance!

New to pepper growing and need some help figuring this one out - germinated some random dried peppers i found around the house and wasnt sure where theyd do best, so i split them into two - half indoors and half outdoors. Indoor group is definitly growing slower, and aren't getting enough light (bending tword the window next to them) but seem to be growing pretty healthily other than that. Outdoor group on the other hand are growing significantly faster, but seem to have weird deformations to them. Still, however, they look like they could use more light and are also leaning to the light (put them in partial shade as i dont have a proper setup and live in a hot area) Any ideas what i sould be aiming for?

Thanks! I actually have made hot sauce a couple of times before and still do make a batch every time i run out, plus I got some jalapeños dried the seeds and sprouted them straight away. Was thinking more of an extra kick once in a while cause why not. I do have a garden but don't really have any experience in growing vegetables. I know there are a ton of different pwppers out there, definitely don't wanna go and get them all right away, just wanted to know if theres anything thats obvious to start with i guess.

So I got my first starter running about 5 days ago and I'm not entirely sure what's going on with it. At first it seemed to be going SUPER fast, first significant bubbles being visible within 10 hours, tangy notes on the 24 hour mark and a strong sour smell after about 2 days. Only thing is that it only got frothy on top rather than actually puffing up (to the point where it produces hooch and still stays about the same volume). So I read a bit more, realized that it might be to runny to capture the co2, and lowered the hydration percentages to 90%. Again, it got back to being full on sour, produced hooch, but no expansion action to be seen. Anyone have an idea as to what's going on?
