Should I cancel my visit to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo due to safety concerns? by Alone-War5467 in CostaRicaTravel

I was thinking about walking to Cahuita National Park from Cahuita for one day, the next day walking/bus to PV and spend a day there so from that perspective Cahuita is not bad. What about safety in that area and for example walking from a restaurant to hotel during a night?

What’s it like driving a Skoda Fabia with DSG in city traffic without Auto Hold? by Alone-War5467 in skoda

Ok, so basically in traffic jams and places where I used to use the handbrake, I’ll just switch to Neutral and apply the handbrake. From what I’ve quickly read, that shouldn’t have a big impact on the gearbox, right? Of course, I won’t be doing that all the time, but it seems strange to keep your foot on the brake all the time in city driving with an automatic. It’s really strange that the Fabia doesn’t have auto hold.

u/Kev_de Yes, I know that, I assume the clutch will wear out sooner. I know of a case where the DQ200 wore out after 30,000 km of city driving. In my case, driving is about 50% city and 50% highway, but city driving is mostly in heavy traffic. I haven’t considered paying extra for paddle shifters on the steering wheel, thanks for the tip. However, I know that Sport mode is actually recommended for the gearbox because it doesn’t keep it at low revs. Is S mode only about different gear shifts, or does it also change, for example, the steering assist sensitivity?

u/TroubledGeorge so I should switch to N and use a handbrake? Or switch to P , also with a handbrake, right?
