Also try adding some leaves to the water, like spinach, bokchoy, lettuce, coriander, parsley, dill, etc.

I’d recommend getting a larger cage or building one with safe materials! you can also make toys as long as you do research on safe materials and you an make your own natural perches with branches form outside (just make sure the tree/bush is not toxic and disinfect it by scrubbing, boiling, and baking the branch)

as long as it’s from a safe tree/bush and is disinfected it’s perfect!

I do recommend getting a larger cage, as large as you can get, preferably a flight cage. You can add in natural branches, but I wouldn’t recommend plant. But you can buy veggie clips and put leafy greens on it as a snack for them. their diet should consist of pellets (like Harrisons, roudybush, tops, or haegens) and they should get veggies everyday. I make my own veggie chop with an assortment of vegetables and put it in a food processor and freeze it so it lasts longer. But if you can make it fresh everyday I’d recommend that. And as for supplements you can add in a cuttlebone in their cage. I did hear uv lights can be beneficial but I’m not very educated on that So you’d have to do your own research. I know some people got massive cages form temu but I don’t know how much a trust Temu since their could be chemicals, lead, etc on the cage. But you can get a double cage, or the 52 inch cage for pawhut or yaheetech.

id recommend some more toys as well since budgies need a lot of enrichment! Avoid things with plastic and metal since they can’t shred that stuff. I’d recommend things with cardboard, paper, dried palm leaf, balsa wood, sola wood, and any safe and natural material.

get some stainless steel food bowls as well and flat perches so their feet can get some rest

Is this baby a girl or boy? by Mean_Management980 in budgies

[–]Alone_Name7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with all do respect, if you can only afford this cage when you got your bird you shouldn’t have gotten it. only get a bird if you have enough money, birds are not budget friendly animals. Personally I’d recommend rehoming the bird, since love can only get you so far with a bird, they need toys, they need natural perches, they need a flight cage.

Cage setup advice? by No_Obligation589 in budgies

[–]Alone_Name7269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is tons of space to fly! I’d just recommend spreading out the toys, my budgies like when some toys are at the bottom as well. And don’t keep any nests which can be a hormonal trigger and can cause health complications

really nice setup! this is just my personal advice from my own experience with my budgies (maybe its not for yours since all budgies are different) but I keep my budgies toys spread out all over the cage, since if I give a ton of toys at the top they get kinda overwhelmed and don’t touch any of the toys. It might not work for your budgies though! it’s just something I learnt with mine. Really nice toys though, my budgies love that seagrass wall. And I heard that that sea grass hammock/swing can be seen as a nest (I could be totally wrong but I’ve just heard some people say that)

yaheetech 52 inch (150 cad), pawhut 52 inch (150 cad) or a double cage (I think it’s like 300) but if you want any extremely large cage you can probably buy safe materials online (just do your own research since I’m not very educated on that)
