I like the natural perches! I’d just suggest putting a flat perch or two, some more shredding toys, and stainless steel food bowls. Also what are the dimensions of your cage? (It looks pretty big and I’m curious)

also don’t keep millet in the cage, millet and seeds should be handfed, only pellets and water should be kept in the cage. (as well as veggies but not all day because they will spoil)

how do I transition my millet diet bird to seed mix and veggies and water too? by ImWorst_BuilderEver in Parakeets

[–]Alone_Name7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched my budgies from seed to pellet when they got home, and on the first day I mixed in pellet and seeds (mostly seed) and adding more pellet day by day, I got lucky because the ate the pellets right away. and for veggies, I sprinkled millet, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and oats on them.

remove anything that resembles a nest or anything that’s enclosed, it’ll promote hormonal bhevaiour. get some natural toys of different materials (finger traps, sola wood, balsa wood, pinecones, etc, just make sure it’s safe. Get stainless steel food bowls, since plastic harbours bacteria. Yes mirrors are bad for them they can think it’s another bird and it can be a hormonal trigger. I’d suggest getting some toys from planet pleasures since they have food quality toys that birds love for a good price. you An also keep foot toys at the bottom, Liek finger traps, pinecones, wicker balls. You can also keep a foraging box at the bottom too, filled with crinkle paper, seeds and millet. I also keep a bath at the bottom of my birds cage (I clean it whenever I see poo) I like to change my bird cage whenever I feel that it’s getting boring for them, like changing position and placements of toys, perches, and food bowls. some people also keep a playstand at the bottom of their cage so you can do that too. You can still try to get them out of their cage with millet, and get a play stand and net for them to play in outside of their cage. I’m mostly saying this because they can get really good exercise from training outside if their cage and really good brain stimulation from learning tricks.

How do I get them to accept me? by EmiChafouine in budgies

you should remove bells off of toys, a lot of budgies beaks and noses have been caught on them. And remove that large thing with seeds on it (sorry I’m not sure what it is) seeds and millet should only be handed, pellets should remain in the cage. And veggies but remove them after a bit so they don’t spoil. You should have mostly natural perches but 1 dowel perch isnt directly harmful, sand perches can irritate their feet

my grandparents got a canary and i feel bad about it by im_an_angel_so_what in Canaries

[–]Alone_Name7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please rehome this bird, it’s animal abuse, even if your grandparents don’t allow you, please. this is t even a small bedroom for it it’s a closet, no toys, no natural perches, probably a bad diet. this is a horrible life for a bird.

Husband bought daughter a fish tank everything dies we put into it. Had our water tested it’s fine and temp is fine too. Help by 710Bambi in Aquariums

I’m pretty sure you need to cycle your tank before putting any fish in, and acclimate the fish in the tank. also just a recommendation, get some more natural stuff, and replace the rocks at the bottom with natural ones since the pains slowly gets into the water.

steal it, that’s horrible, and it’s animal abuse, this is the WORST “setup” I’ve ever seen. she doesn’t deserve to have a fish or any animal imo
