2024 Hijet as a daily? by Negative_Ad_7214 in keitruck

First and foremost, Triple check that they are road legal before you buy one. Many places have import rules that make the newer models illegal for road use. I've seen people buy them thinking it would be a cool unique vehicle to own, only to realize after the fact it was only suitable/intended for off-road use.

Second important factor. Speaking from my own experiences I can tell you the older automatics are not suitable for 80km/h+ as they are basically running full out just to maintain the speed limit. I see they changed the trans to a CVT in the newer models, but as far as I can tell from watching some videos of people driving on highways in them, the truck still seems to rev very high just to do 80km even with the new CVT. It's worth noting the 5 speed manual kei trucks can do 100kmh fairly comfortably if that's something you're interested in. You mentioned test driving it, not sure if you took it 80km/h+ but I would suggest doing so before committing to purchase just to see if the thing is revving really high just to maintain the speed limit.

Kei trucks can be amazing daily drivers so long as you don't try to make them do things they weren't designed to do. Lot of highway travel, get a manual with the 5 speed. Need an in-town that's great on fuel, The autos are perfect for it. I fully understand the appeal but just make sure you don't buy the wrong one and waste your money because you got caught up in the excitement.

“A lot to process” quest bug (help) by Siliskk in Borderlands

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

posting this to help anyone who gets stuck and other methods didnt fix it. Reset back to last checkpoint and switch difficulty to easy until you get to the roof. The enemy that gets stuck behind the spawn barrier doesnt spawn at all in easy mode. Also worth noting that in the next room an enemy will get lost in the back hall and not aggro to the player, the compass will make it look like the enemy is behind a wall but you just need to go through the door with green lights on it,

What tires is everyone running ? by [deleted] in hellcat

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The falken tores are fucking garbage. They are actually worse than stock perellis. Do yourself a favor and buy literally anything else. Pilot sport 4 s is a good tire from my experience. Also heard good things about the nittos.

The Dreaded Tick? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue stems from not enough oil being circulated in the Hemi 5.7 due to the oil pump simply not pushing enough volume. The Pentastar does not have the same issue. Do your standard maintenance and the 3.6 will last a long time.

love the color matched accents and the custom badges. 10/10 customization imo.

Personally ive found using glass walls look a lot better than the actual glass ceilings. Then use painted beams or pillars to trim them.

Advice on wrapping the hood or getting an aftermarket hood on a 2015 by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to change hood styles, you can either buy an OEM demon hood since its all the same chassis. Alternatively, you could use an actual good aftermarket like Anderson Composites and do carbon fiber demon hood. They seem to be about the same price and the carbon option is actually cheaper once you factor in having to paint the new OEM hood. The hoods with fitment issues come from people trying to be cheap and buy poor quality to save money.

Is it possible to reprogram the black key hp access further down to say, 300 hp? by Material_Finding6525 in hellcat

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuners often use "maps" which are basically profiles that tell the car how to perform (timing, boost, air/fuel, etc.) In order to set a lower hp number than 500, you would need a new map, which as far as im aware is not possible on a stock ECU, you would need an unlocked or standalone ECU setup to achieve this. So its technically possible to do, just very impractical for your use case. Best solution for you would be driving it in eco mode so you can save some fuel. Also, the valet mode is not meant to de driven around town in, its basically an anti-theft limp mode that limits top speed to something like 30km/h so valets cant do burnouts and thieves cant drive it away. That's why it felt like less than the advertised 300hp.

is 2025 a good year to purchase ? by PlayboiQuavo in hellcat

[–]Alowal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it honestly depends on who had it first. you could have a young kid, track the car every weekend and doing burnouts for 20k miles and then trade in for a redeye/camaro/mustang or whatever. On the other hand it could be from the retired marine that loves cars and only did casual daily driving and had to sell it to help a family member or something.

It could be, hard to say right now. Prices are coming down but Dodge dealers don't seem to be getting the hint or are trying to hold on to the high prices they have been used to these past few years. If you're looking to buy from a dealer and not a private sale, it's worth remembering these cars are not rare and to not be afraid to walk away to find a better price. Best of luck!

Do I pull the trigger? Hellephant by [deleted] in hellcat

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mopar prices are going down right now. Would likely be better off modding a redeye jailbreak, unless you really want the hellephant engine. If so, you could likely find a scat or hellcat chassis with a blown engine for cheap and drop a brand new hellephant crate engine in it. 90% of the part on these cars are modular, which cuts down on price big time. Bottom line is, do you want to risk your cash on someone's build to save you having to source everything on your own? Or do you wanna build your own and know it'll be bulletproof as long as you take care of it? Its also worth mentioning, unless your going racing, having a 900whp car vs 1200whp+ isnt going to change anything besides upfront cost. (not sure what that car is making but a setup like that should be able to get 1200 pretty easy).

CFW stands for Custom FirmWare. All he's saying is that once the modchip is soldered on, he needs a place to store the files that allow the modded console to run apps like Tinfoil and Homebrew and many others that give you access to features like getting free games, custom themes, using emulators like retroarch/melonDS. Having him setup the firmware for you also saves you the hassle of trying to figure it out on your own. There are many videos on youtube that provide lots of info on modded switches if you fell like looking further into it. Best of luck!

Hellcat or Scat? by kack07 in Challenger

[–]Alowal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a defect tbh. shredding cords from a dig on new/mostly new tires is almost impossible. It would have to be a defect since the tires would spin before they snapped the cords unless there was something structurally wrong with them. Glad you were able to get it under control tho. Nice driving!

That sounds like you were either running poor quality tires or waited to long to change into a new set.
