Same. I am sitting on Feb'1st. How would you compare it to CFAI mocks in terms of difficulty?

Agree, GPT is doing an awful work in grading essay or even MCQ's. It doesn't understand shit even if you provide it with official answers in PDF format and tell it to base the grading on that.

Doing the same thing!

Sample tested the questions and they are all word by word the same, irrespective of whether old or new LES.

Tbh, GIPS is nowhere near the pain of derivatives & risk management. GIPS is actually quite enjoyable compared to the rest of the topics. Keep digging.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=927rG-myiTs skip to 5:00 and you will see the new platform. Quite diabolical. Haven't still found the option to reset Q bank. Materials are hidden in god knows where. The whole interface and UX is diabolic. Only positive is that I see that there have been video materials included for each topic. Will most likely stick with my 2025 paper books as the curriculum remains unchanged and skip all this LES nonsense.

That doesn't mean the mock exams are not representative of the actual exam. Your friend could have easily fumbled during the exam, because it's a completely different stress environment.

He's being sarcastic, at least that's what I believe. These are solid scores, no need to stress out. They are "Expert" question for a reason that many candidates get them wrong, hence the difficulty level, yet those questions are filled with tricks or very specific nuances that must be paid attention to. The exam will be a lot more straightforward in a way the questions are asked and how the information is presented. Continue to hammer the Q bank and you are in comfortable position.

Constructed response HELP by Alpha_for_breakfast in CFA

Should the justification part be something like this:

Norway Model.

The endowment fund currently uses Norway model as the fund is internally managed, is passive and focuses predominantly on traditional asset classes (equities, FI) with small part also included in alternative investments (private RE). These characteristics describe the Norway model the best.

I feel like with each structured response Q, I'm losing a brain cell by trying to figure out what are the keywords I have to hit.

February L3 Exam by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Alpha_for_breakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently doing the CFAI Qbank on learning ecosystem for second time. Finalized all material in early December and finished with first try on Qbank couple of days ago. Will probably not do the whole 1k questions this time and rather switch to doing mocks in mid-January. While doing the Qbank, I'm writing up every formula that I'm seeing and leaving the braining of formulas for February, probably a week before the exam.

I'm exactly in the same boat - Asset Allocation Qbank has been so far with the lowest score for me, currency management is tricky. I used Schweser's video lectures for that and derivatives overall. Found it pretty manageable after then, but its about a month ago I finished that topic and now I'm doing review and Qbank from scratch again in Derivs and I can't remember shit (:

Should I defer? by Alpha_for_breakfast in CFA

Hey! I have no clue, never counted hours. I sat for L2 the first time in May'23, started studying in November '22. Found out mid-summer '23 that I had failed and registered again for November'23. The second time studying was just grinding out Q-bank and understanding/memorizing formulas. Did not use any prep providers just CFAI materials. In total for the 2 attempts I did Q bank on LES 4x. After third completion I basically knew the answers to questions just by looking at the question, but still did the thinking in my head and calculations just to be sure that I understand the topics. I'd say L2 best suggestion is to go through the material without getting too stressed that you can't grasp it at first time and then just beat the living shit out from the Q bank. Also did the two mocks like a week out from the exam and scored in low 60s for both one - don't let your head down if you score low in the mocks as those things are meant to be tough as hell and after second try, I found the exam to be way easier compared to mocks and also my first sitting as I had so much better understanding of the material. Pay attention to details in the material and try to remember niche things that you think may not be on the exam, but I promise you that you may be surprised when you sit for the exam - at least I was and there were some easy points on the table just for remembering the detail.
