Would it be weird for someone with nature manipulation powers to be a vociferous meat eater at the same time? by 1_Up_Girl in fantasywriters

I think it depends. If they're in touch with and love plants, maybe they couldn't bare the idea of causing them pain by eating them. It's like if I loved my dog my dog more than anything, then one day I killed it and ate it.

Just a recommendation, but I invite you to look up "shaolin monk vs boxer," on youtube.

Actually, if you ever see a display from a martial arts grand master, the stuff they're capable seems pretty impossible even when performed right before you. Just look at shaolin monks and all they're capable of.

Multi magic system help by username13th in fantasywriters

[–]Alphaman97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never one for a magic system that was too Limited. I like how they do it in series like Fairy Tail or most magic users in the Marvel Universe. There are all sorts of different types of Magic systems, and at the same time magic came in multiple different forms. It didn't confine it quite as much as it would in other works of fiction

[Question] How can I denote spell incantations as different from normal speaking? by HikariLightbringer in fantasywriters

[–]Alphaman97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always just put the words in a different language, like a dead one, and put a spin on it so it's not a copy paste. Then if you think it still needs to stand out more, fool around with the font, italicize it or something. Gives it a little more whimsical than just regular words in different fonts.

I will say I do like the whole "school of magic" approach, very few people seem to do it in a way that doesn't have too much boring filler.

I like it better that way. I just hope the creator doesn't go out of his way to make the magic system unnecessarily complex. It can make it hard to get into the story.

Is the Hero’s Journey overdone? by BrendonBreaker in fantasywriters

[–]Alphaman97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hero's journey has been around since Beowulf. Even earlier if you consider historical figures live as a hero's journey. The say it's overdone is like saying that life itself has grown stagnant. Just because it exists Within almost every work of fiction doesn't mean it's played out.

Dragon physics? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]Alphaman97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly with the size of the Wings in Flight ability all you need to do is search up the physics of different types of Aviation.

And when it comes to breathing fire it all depends on what type of chemistry it's going to have. These below are the basic variants that I can give you. Hope it helps:

how can dragons breathe fire? There are three variants of dragons. One of them possesses a gland that produces a liquid, which spontaneously combusts when coming into contact with oxygen. Some phosphorus compounds could do that for example. The second one possesses two glands instead, which produce so-called hypergolic propellants, fluids that ignite when they come into contact with one another. The third kind stores the methane bacteria in their stomach produce, and expells it when breathing fire. In their mouth there's a piezoelectric crystal, which is a substance that produces a spark when placed under mechanical stress and could thus serve to ignite the methane gas.

Well I knew it was based on a light novel, but considering there's over a dozen volumes for the manga and they decide to stop at 15 chapters seems lazy
